These style bikes should be equipped with the dual servo ABS braking system. I recommend you get the bike scanned by a professional shop and see if they can confirm brake module failure via fault codes. sounds like the motors are going bad and thats why they are staying activated because they are not building up the required voltage. Hope this helps, Regards, Tim 423 327 4108

Hello Kim,

What type of vehicle are we discussing here? Engine? 2 WD? Transmission?

Is the whining noise present at idle?

Is your vehicle air conditioned?

I need some details to provide assistance.

1999 Pontiac Sunfire 5 speed won't start. Replaced spark plugs and checked ignition coil (fine). Sounds like it wants to turn over but makes a "whining" noise. Please assist. Thank you!

Is the engine turning over with the key in the start position? If the engine is not spinning over and you hear a whining noise, the starter is not engaging the flywheel. If the engine is turning over with the starter engaged, the engine has most likely jumped time that creates low or no compression which results in the whining noise.

How to remove the whining from xc90 frontend

Whining from the engine or the driveline itself? Whining can be caused by lack of or low lubricant, a bad bearing or a serpentine belt on the way out. Can you be more specific? Does it only whine while you are driving, or does it whine all the time and changes pitch with engine RPM? Does turning the tires change the noise, if so, does it go away in one direction but not the other, or does it increase in noise the closer you get to full lock on the steering wheel?

Whineing noise

Check primary chain to see if it's too loose.

If that's not the problem, check that the engine sprocket nut hasn't loosened.

My 2005 pontiac sunfire is making a whining noise almost like a belt noise in the left rear when I turn to the left and is also making the noise when I use my brake.

check the brake pad thickness as there is a scraper that contacts the disc rotor when the pads are low to let you know to replace them

Whining noise in car stops when breaking or turning

This can be from a number of problems. You have wear tabs, sometimes called "screech tabs" and they are suppose to make noise when the brake pads are thin. This will happen when the caliper shifts in a turn or the brakes are applied.

Next, the wheel bearings will definitely whine when they are dry or worn out. The application of the brakes makes the bearing shift slightly and this can temporarily stop the noise. The weight shift can be enough to relieve the worn part in a turn by changing the angle of the wheel in a turn. But a brake caliper can also rock in its mounts during a turn and pull away from where it was rubbing.

This repair requires hands-on inspection of the parts to sort the good from the bad. All of these parts are in the same area.

I hope my solution helps you.
