My 2003 cadillac cts automatic transmisssin will not change gears. The car pulls off slower than normal but will reach high speed in one gear. is it to late change/flush the transmission fluid, what valve make the trans change gears in that system? what kind of trans fluid goes in the transmission
Please do not have your transmission flushed , have someone take the oil pan off and replace the filter as well and what ever trans oil you take out replace it as well . no automotive repair shop will warrenty your trans if it should suddenly stop working , but just for your satisfaction ask the transmission repair shop who flushs trans if they guarantee it and have them put it in writing . ive never understood why flush dirty oil and leave the dirty filter in the trans , it collected all dirt and metal wear which is what is causing it to plug up causing it to restrict the oil flow

I found my manual to the car and found out what can of oil goes in the transmission. are special selenoids that makes the transmission change gears this is a 3.2 engine.
AUTOMATIC TRANS HAVE SOLENOIDS THAT SHIFT THE GEARS FROM REG TAKE OFF TILL IT REACHS A CERTAIN SPEED THEN THE ELECTRICAL SOLENOID SHIFTS THE GEARS TO MATCH THE SPEED BUT TRY REPLACING THE TRANS FILTER AND WHAT EVER AMOUNT OF TRANS OIL THAT WAS IN THE TRANS OIL PAN . PURCHASE THE TRANS FILTER AND IT COMES WITH THE PAN GASKET AS WELL . PLACE HI-TEMP SILICON ON THE OIL PAN ONLY BUT USE YOUR PAN BOLTS TO HOLD THE GASKET DOWN TILL IT STICKS IN PLACE AND LET YOUR TRANS DRIP IN OIL DISPENSING PAN BEFORE YOU TRY TO PLACE THE PAN BACK ON ABOUT A COUPLE OF HOURS THE SURFACE NEEDS TO BE CLEAN AND FREE OF TRANS OIL IN ORDER TO SEAL BUT DONT TORQ THE BOLT DOWN ON LIP TO WHERE IT PUTS A DENT ON IT CHECK YOUR REPAIR MANUEL ON POUNDS OF TORQ
TO BAD YOU DONT LIVE IN HANFORD CA.
