Hi, Anonymous a giant hole in the piston or a bent valve for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. I have a motovox mvs10 43cc 2hp gas powered scooter and was wondering if there is suppose to be plastic like components in fuel tank and what are reasons that could cause it not to start.

often the is a fuel filter in the tank at the end of the fuel line, if it has deteriorted then yes it could stop it from starting due to a clog in the carb. If ou have good spark then sprat a few puffs of starter fluid into air intake or on the air cleaner ( which should be clean ) . if it starts for a second or two then it's most likely your carb.

How have you checked compression??

See if the carb has suction rather than the air box.

If you have compression even with the throttle valve and or a choke plate closed you should have suction at the carb intake opening. If you really do have compression but not suction at the carb (not just the airbox) it sounds like the carb is loose from its mounting on the intake part of the engine or somewhere between the carb and the cylinder head, otherwise with compression it must have suction. That being said, has the bike been sitting where mice might have built a restricting nest in the intake system, air box, and/or the exhaust system???

Ran out of gas, filled back up and wont start

try removing the airbox on the side. Cup your hand over the inatke while cranking the motor. Do that for a couple of motor rotations. Once you've done that try restarting it without cupping the intake. Sometimes it takes a little extra suction to charge the engine with fuel or the carb isn't able to draw enough of an initial charge to start it. If that doesn't work hold your finger over the exhaust tip while cranking and release it while still ccranking it over. A couple of times doing that and she should fire up. If that doesn't work then I would check to make sure you are even getting gas to the float of the carb at all.

Scooter starts but turns off

Hi, Domagoj and the usual suspects are:
1. Idle speed improperly adjusted.
2. Inlet system air leak.
3. Leaking accelerator pump.
4. Loose low-speed jet.
5. Plugged low-speed jet.
6. Contaminated or plugged low-speed circuit.
7. Enrichner valve is not seated or leaking.

Keeway xray wont start

Hi, Bernado45 before testing any electrical component in the Starter Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test because your battery may have 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amps causing the battery to be faulty and must be replaced, especially "AGM" batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid or starter circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

I have a scooter a bms teamguys 150cc scooter it is impossible to start in the morning or after its been sitting for a few hours you have to use starter fluid to get it going but once its warmed up it runs...

Could just be cold blooded. Does sound like fuel is being primed to be able to start. if a person has to use starter fluid, then that means the carb is not getting enough gas at start up. Carb will most likely need to be pulled apart and soaked in solvent or equivelant for couple hours. Make sure float is adjusted properly and fuel filter is clean

WONT START

Not so many reasons she won't start. 4-Strokes are Simple!

Here they are:

Motor:
Fuel Tank-> Fuel Line-> Fuel Filter-> Carb-> Intake (Valve)-> Piston-> Exhaust (Valve)-> Muffler

Carb (Old Style):
Fuel Side:
Fuel Bowl-> Float-> Needle Seat-> Fuel Ports (Venturi)
Air Side:
Air Filter-> Carb Air Intake-> Butterflies (2)
(Clean 'em ALL!)

Hardware (Motor):
Rotor (Magnets)-> Magneto (Ignition Coil)-> Spark Plug Wire-> Spark Plug-> Cylinder Head (Spark Plug Ground)

Ignition:
Kill Switches (Seat, Clutch, etc.)-> Spark Plug/Ignition Coil-> Ground
Key Ignition-> Battery->Starter/Generator

If one of those fail.......= Non-Starting 4-Stroke!

Fixes-
Fuel:
You are either getting too much, or too little. Too much = Carb.
Too little = Carb. Therefore, tear down the Carb (COMPLETELY-Careful!) and clean it up.

Electrical:
Grounding out the System (Kill Switches)
Battery-> Ignition-> Starter.
Magneto->Plug Wire->Plug (Check 'em all!)

Which fuel lines conncets to the carburetor?

Well I finally got my saw running - it occured to me that my older chainsaw never had a primer bulb - so I bypassed it and...pull started it with the choke on till it chugged - then turned the choke off and held the gas full on - pulled the starter cord and was cutting trees - LOL

I did speak with a small engine guy - he explained that the primer is to pressurize the gas tank - so your return line from the carb goes to the suction side of the primer bulb - output to the tank - and pickup line with filter goes to the intake of the carb - FYI - hope it helps ya!!!!!!!!!!
