I would like to help, but I don't understand the question. Are you trying to say, you pulled out the battery, and put it back in 48hrs later?

SOURCE: engine wont re start when hot

I've had the same problem since last tune up. 'H' at Exactrep sorted it. It is almost certainly plug caps. I changed tmine for NGK's and the fault stopped IMMEDIATELY. Apparently a well know solution for those in the know. My bike was also running rough at low revs. This appears to have been due to the previous service where they overtightened the clips that seal the hoses that connect to the carbs. Each of them had a split causing air to be pulled in. Change the caps first, see what happens. Pete...

SOURCE: 2002 Zuma starts, runs for 1 to 2 minutes then shuts off.

There is a very good chance your fuel tank vent is plugged. This causes basically a vapor lock thus no fuel is able to reach the carburetor or fuel system. By letting the bike sit you are essentially letting fuel get through the system enough to let it run for a few minutes. So check for pinched vent tubes, this happens frequently after you have a routine service performed and the tank is removed.
Good luck and let me know if this helps you.

Hi all...I was stuck in a horrible traffic jam 4 2 hours...in which 1 1/2 hrs were less than 5 mph. My truck is a 2003 Ford Escape. My radio went out then the lights started 2 dim and a brake light came...

I suppose its possible the alternator stopped charging the battery enough at the low engine speed but then worked on the way home.
The alternator will charge 12 - 13 volts at idle, but you could have enough accessories and the cooling fan running to use more voltage or amps than it is producing. Stopping at a traffic light for a couple of minutes does not hurt anything since the battery is usually fully charged. But idling for an hour or more with everything on could run the battery down.
You might want to have the computer checked for codes even tho the check engine light may not have been on. Also have the alternator and battery tested again to see if something happened while in heavy traffic.

Engine shutdown after 5 minutes

May be a dirty fuel filter. It is basically running out of gas because dirty filter is creating a bottleneck in the fuel system.

1994 Grand Cherokee, 5.2 V8 shuts off when hot. Cool for an hour or 2, starts up after a half hour or so, then dies again. No trouble codes except 12 and 55; I pulled fuses to check them, hence the code...

NOTE: With the jeep cherokees. the Check Engine light if continuously driven with it on for more than 25 minutes whilst still traveling will engage the "PCM self protect" usually around the 27minute mark, and shut down the vehicle, and yes it takes 90 minutes to reset,

you might find that you will arrive ok, at your destination with this issue... pull up, and then it wont start again a few minutes later, this is the PCM Shutdown protection.....when the check engine light is on means the PCM is reset, found the error and why you can only run the car with the check engine light for about half an hour.

"You can however drive and turn the car off and coast in neutral and turn on the vehicle again to buy yourself more time with the "Check Engine time limit shutoff"

happened to me in mine, the error codes never showed up for the crankshaft position sensor
either...

i replaced the crankshaft position sensor under the transmission case, and it got rid of the issue this crank sensor is a common cause of the cherokees , it could no longer read the speed of the crankteeth. and can't get a reading the car is still running hence the shutdown, also you will find it also controls the PCM to engage your second fan on the radiator because it cant tell the vehicle is still running, and causes the PCM to get confused and wont let the rest of the engine function properly ie: coolant sensors, and Thermostat sensors, and you will find it overheats and needs to cool some times...which is why the PCM shutsdown the car.....try the crankshaft position sensor replacement under the transmission it's usually the cause of this on all cherokees "makes no difference if its a V8 or not by the way, same thing happens on 4.0 straight six engines also" .

Had a simuliar problem, Bike would have a total shutdown a High Temps/Low Speeds/High RPMs. Everything would reset itself after appox 2 minutes. Everything would shutdown Electric and engine.
2 Harley dealers spent 75 hours diagnosing it, dealer could not reproduce it. Last repair was to replace battery cables. Seems to have fixed it. Have ridden 15oo miles since repair. Problem reacurred once last time I rode. Again complete shutdown bike restored after 2 minutes. Did not happen again the rest of the day over 200 miles
