Yes, its electrical. Check right through from button to battery to sparkplugs. If the bike is totally dead (If no lights come on) start from the battery and work back wards checking that power is there at the battery and then along the circuit.

SOURCE: neutral light off but motor is in neutral , bike won't start

Check your stand safety switch. Or your gear sensor. One of these is guilty!!!

SOURCE: replaced battery, bike started fine.

To begin with, I'd have that battery load tested to see if it's any good. I've seen brand new batteries that were bad. It it checks OK, check all the connections that go to the battery. Be especially attentive to the smaller wires that attach to it. I've seen battery acid eat the wire out of the insulation leaving the insulation intact and the wire appeared fine. If the wire bends too easily, be suspect. If the wires have the "crimp on" connectors, make sure they're tight. Your problem sounds like a bad connection somewhere.

Good Luck

SOURCE: my bike won't start(lights light ,horn works

Hey, When that happened to me I took the bike half apart and it ended up being the Kill switch. Try rocking it back and forth also if you have contact cleaner flood the switch and let it dry then give it a light spray of wd-40. also check the start switch to be sure it is making contact, bike is in Neutral and the kick stand switch is also working.

SOURCE: I've got a 1996 Kawasaki

The bike has a bent shift fork. The engine must come out then gets flipped upside down to remove the bottom half of the crankcase. This allows access to the gears and shift forks. The repair is not recommended for the home mechanic. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_211.gif

Hi, Tommy and the usual suspects are:
1. Neutral light bulb burnt out.
2. Faulty neutral switch.
3. A loose bulb in the socket.
4. Faulty wiring from the neutral switch to the light.
5. If the neutral light stays on while the bike is in gear the wire from the light to the neutral switch is grounded.

Hi I've got a 2011 ktm 350sxf but it won't start

Without knowing the bike, I can only give you somethings to try. Pull in the clutch, make sure the sidestand is up and that the ignition is switched on ( you may have to apply the front brake as well, as they have always been very safety minded ) Then press the start button, Don't forget to make sure it is in neutral as well. Good luck.

Why does the 30 amp circuit breaker behind the battery box on my 1990 fatboy click once when i push the ignition button? The bike won't start.

Try to reset the circuit breaker. also check for an earth fault on the starter motor .If this is not a circuit breaker and is a relay, you should make sure everything is ready for a start, (ie : in neutral, sidestand up and clutch in and that the battery is charged.) the neutral light being "on" doesn't mean it is in neutral. I hope this helps.

My kawasaki zx12 wont turn on.i've check the batery cables and ignitoin.it happened when i installed a new battery

A couple of things that may sound trivial or silly, but check and make sure your kill switch is in the start position.
Check your fuses to make sure they are all still good.
Make sure that when you turn the key you get a neutral light, if not select neutral and try to start it again.
Check you battery is fully charged, a battery that is below charge won't start a bike like it will start a car.
Did you disconnect any other wires if so reconnect them.
Do you have fuel in the tank?

Replaced battery, bike started fine. Let it sit overnight, won't start. Won't even crank, just clicks once then nothing, the Neutral light shuts off and the lights started flickering.

Neutral light won't turn on and bike won't start

The click u hear means your neutral isn't the problem, it means your new battery is trying to start the engine, however the power isn't making it to the starter. check the battery cables for good connection in the ends of the wires and at the start relay (the positive wire from the battery goes to the start relay that may need replacing) also from the start relay that you hear clicking down to the starter.make sure cable and nuts that hold them are clean in good shape. to get the neutral lite to come on the side stand doesn't do it, the shift lever does. you can be sure you are in neutral when the bike can roll without the clutch being pulled. If the bike is in neutral and the lite doesn't come on then replacing the bulb or sensor might be necessary.
