Most clicking/popping noises when turning indicate a bad ball joint in the front axle. The CV joint has a boot over it that will eventually rip, causing the grease inside to be slung out. Dirt and moisture will get in there and cause the smooth joint to pop when under stress, like turning.

2004 Chevy Cavalier; Driving; turned the corner and suddenly, no D1; D2; or D3. Reverse and park are OK. Transmission fluid checked and OK. No warning lights or sounds just will not go forward

I suspect you have a broken clutch drum or stripped splined shaft inside of the transmission. Even if the electronics failed you would still have 2nd, neutral, reverse, and park so the problem is most likely mechanical. Odds are pretty good that the transmission will need to be removed and repaired or replaced.

Please help! Ford fiesta courier van mk4 broke down after tapping noise.

What was the water temp reading before you parked. You just seized the front carrier bearing. (right front). But if you overheated the engine before you parked. You blew a head gasket, resulting in a hydro locked condition. That's why the starter will not turn engine over when you tried to crank it. ( Expensive!)

I was driving 40 mph and I heard something that sounded like a bolt hitting the street from off of my car and a loud sound was coming from under the front end of my 2002 dodge neon. When my car is rolling...

Hi, the problem is either a wheel bearing or driveshaft joint. You will need a mechanic to repair the car, as these repairs require experience and special tools. To verify the problem, you can get under the front of the car and grab the half-shafts--there is one on each side going to the middle of the wheel hub. Pull the shaft up/down or side to side. There should be no movement at all. If there is movement, you are holding the bad shaft. A mechanic can tell if the problem is with the shaft itself or the bearing in the hub. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Popping noise

Inner tie rods could make the same noise your describing. Do this......with your car in park and at idle, slightly turn you wheel from left to right, just a slight ****. 1/16 of a turn. Increase the pace from left to right, then slow down the pace. You should feel a bump in the steering wheel almost like something is tapping it. If so, have your inner and outer tie rods checked. Actually, have the steering gear checked also for leaks and wear.

Hummer H2 front tires rub when making sharp turns

If it definitely wasn't doing it before you took it in to the dealer and it was after they worked on it, then it must be related to what they have done and should be repaired by them. I recommend that you take it back again, ask to speak to the service manager and explain that you want it sorted out. If you get no joy from him, make an appointment to see the Dealer Principal (or overall manager, whatever his title is). I find it hard to believe that any reputable dealer would tell you that there is nothing wrong/nothing they can do when it MUST be something they have done in the first place. While the rubbing is probably not going to cause that much damage to the tyres, it is not exactly desirable either! If you still can't get any help from them, you could get another mechanic to look at it give you a second opinion. If they need to charge you for doing so, then you should be able to get reimbursed by the dealer once it is proven that there is an issue.

Sorry I can't help more.

Gearbox from clutch

have you checked the clutch mechanism? for me sounds like the clutch doesn't engage properly or fully rather. Ask your mechanic to check the clutch system fully and check whether it fully engages, or do this check for yourself. Bring car onto a flat surface and shift to 1st while engine being switched off, start it while pressing the clutch (fully down to the floor board) and then release parking break and check for following
whether vehicle is moving
RPM decreases a bit
does engine get loaded and start vibrate or rattle a bit
