Hi, Anonymous for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. My 94' gmc yukon will not shift into over drive

Problem is most likely internal of the transmision. To diagnos this problem correctly, you need a scan tool. Most likely scenario is that the solenoids in the transmision are defective. Take to tranny shop for proper diagnosis.

While driving my 2005 armada began leaking fluid & smoke poured from the engine compartment..then the engine just seized completely. I had it towed to a local aamco. Have these models had transmission...

if the engine seized and smoke was pouring from under the hood, its most likely not the tranny. are you sure the engine seized? what color smoke poured out? can you still shift the tranny? if the tranny broke, you wouldnt be able to start your car, however, that doesnt mean your engine seized, that's just a fail safe designed to keep you from destroying your engine internals when the tranny seizes. if you can still shift, the tranny isnt seized and you should put the vehicle in nuetral and try to push it, if it moves, the problem is the engine. cant tell you much more than that without specifics. also: if you are driving a vehicle with recalled brakes, you arent very smart. if your brakes have been recalled, you need to be using aftermarket brake parts. dont have the dealer service your brakes, go to a brake shop or a parts store and get brake parts that meet original equipment standards, but are NOT original equipement. if you have already switched from factory brakes to after market brakes, then whomever has been installing your brakes doesnt know what they are doing. i deliver pizza part time and put tremendous wear and tear on my brakes, yet i still get 3 years out of cheapo brake pads. 4 sets of brakes in 5 years is rediculous, and i would find a new mechanic if i were you.

Car stuck in gear.I had to remove cv joint shaft in order to get moving.what could be the problem and what caused this?

Its probably shift linkage between shift handle and transmision get under car and find where the shifter comes through the cars floor and check the rod arms that run between shifter and tranny, if its good then its internal transmision.

Is my transmision going out

If it only does this in third gear and no others then your tranny is faulty in that gear. Expensive fix.. I would make sure that your fluid is full and clean before I change the tranny.

Transmision wont back up

you need a different tranny because the reverse is a direct gear and is doent engage, the reverse doest work with the drive gear system,so you have a internal mechanical problem in you tranny

Where do i check transmision fluid on a 1998 honda accord

left hand side of the motor near the fire wall closest to the windshield look for a yellow handle it will be short and may be in a difficult location to see put just poke your head in there and look...
if this is a standard tranny there will be no way to check othr than opening up the filler hole on your tranny
