SOURCE: I need the valve adjustments for a honda 1100 goldwing

i think you will find that like the 1200 there is no valve adjustment..well there is but not in the normal locknut screw adjustment that we are all familiar with,,they are a shimmed "no lash"hydraulic system,,you can buy the shims from your local honda dealer but they only come in 1mm steps i took 4 new ones to an engineer and got them taken down to 1/2 mm thickness this made a big difference, they are quite easy to do just take some time to get right, but once done they should do 50-60000km before needing looking at again..hope this helps

SOURCE: How do you adjust the valve clearances on the

motor has to be turned over counter clock wise to top dead center T or I should show up in the inspection hole. I bought one had a horrible rattle and I thought it was a major problem but turned out to be loose valve adjustment. When turning the motor counter clockwise don`t back up if you go too far just go around again. I set mine to 3 thousandths intake and 4 thousandths exhaust

Spark plugs oiling up on 1995 Honda outboard motor causing mis firing.

Sounds like you will need to change the hold seal rings under the rocker arm. See, he has a video on removing the rocker arm and changing the seals (cost $4.00 each). Be prepare to change the camshaft seal and maybe adjust the valves. Good luck. from SomeTiMechanic.

I have a really bad ticking noise coming from the top end of the motor. i have adjusted the rocker arms to were i believe they should be and the noise is still there? it is a mid 80's honda 350 quad.

Hi, does oil reaches the rocker box abundantly ?
You must adjust the valve gap according to manufacturer speficarions.
Maybe you pressure release valve is set to low and you d'ont have enough pressure to reach the rocker arms
good luck

I pulled my valve covers on my 04 jeep liberty 3.7 and both sides have a rocker arm that has slipped off. there doesn't seem to be any damage done, but i have yet to pull the heads off. what should i look...

Hi, without a rocker arm, the valve would stay closed. As the lash adjusters may have been loose for a while, check the camshaft lobes for wear as well as the rockers themselves. Look around for other stuff the rocker may have damaged while bouncing around in the valve cover. Replace all of the lash adjusters, making sure to put the rockers back on their original valves. Not sure you need to pull the heads. Why don't you put it back together and run a compression test. If compression is good, valves are probably fine. Let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

76 351 mod 400 has a noise that sounds like the rocker arms are loose .Are they adjustable?

Yes the are adjustable, if they are the original camshaft lifters and rockers they should be hydraulic and the adjustment is 0 valve lash.

1976 is getting back there and some wear along the line someone might have changed them, remove a valve cover and see if there is a set screw on the rocker arm if there is they have been changed to a solid set and you will have to adjust them try .006 intake and .008 exhaust.

Need to know if I can adjust the valves on 86 Ford Escort

normally they are not adjustable, look at your rocker arms, do they have a nut and screw threaded into them? if not they are not adjustable, are having trouble with lifter tapping noise? this happens to not adjustable valve engine due to lifter wear, the hydraulic lifters lose their ability to hold oil pressure so they create space instead of elimanating space, and should probably be replaced. Hope this helps, let me know
