Recently got carbs rebuilt on my 94 gsx 600f. It idles high, poor low speed handling, and drinks gas fast. what else could be my issue?

Idles high, oil leak at crank case and somewhere near the exhaust pipes near the front of the engine, and its drinking a lot of gas.

Too big on the main jets , take them back to the rebuilder and tell him to fix it.

Vauxhall omega 3.2 how to turn up the idle speed

there should be a screw for the adjustment. Not sure why you would need to adjust the idle unless you have recently rebuilt the carb. usually there are 2 or 3 screws for adjustment 1 labeled L for low H for High and the third would be the idle

My outboard motor doesn't idle at low rpm's, it cuts off when put into gear.

Could be several reasons for this, poor quality / dirty gas, restricted fuel line either partially blocked or pinched at some point come straight to my mind.

Vanguard V Twin 18 hp. monted in Cushman Motor scooter, runs great at W.O.T and at on quarter throttle, misses at range inbetween

Sounds like your carb needs the fuel/air mix adjusted..uses all the gas at high speed but has excess at low speeds...find your adjusting screw and at med throttle slowly screw it clockwise until the engine starts to sputter then back it out until it starts to sputter again then continue to do this until you reach ideal mix where it runs the best it can..then go slowly through the throttle up and down..when set..unjust your idle speed screw to your ideal idle speed..if this dies not fix ..carb will bed cleaned or rebuilt. Good luck.. Note always push or pull your throttle handle slowly to position avoids gas load up causing sputter and backfire.

I have a 1980 Honda 750k. I recently purchased it and it wouldnt hold an idle at all. would just die if you wasnt giving it gas. I had the carbs tore down checked and rebuilt but I am still having the same...

you may have a vaccume leak try spraying some carb cleaner around the carbs and intake ports while running and see if that changes the idle speed or allows it to idle for a second, otherwise it still sounds like a carb problem please rate

2002 Suzuki GSX 1300 R high idle speed

Hi, Hamlicar high idle on fuel injected models can be caused by a faulty IAC valve located on the top front of the induction module. It has either failed electronically and needs to be replaced or mechanically getting gummed by contaminated engine blow by. You can try cleaning the unit by removing the air cleaner and backing plate, unplug, unscrew and remove the IAC. Using carb cleaner and " LOW " volume compressed air to clean the metal pintle and shaft that is spring loaded and has an operating length of just under 1 inch. Adventurous souls who did not heed the low air warning have launched pintle and spring into parts unknown. There is no guarantee this will work but worth a try since a new one is $50.00

What kind of carb does the 76 c10 4x4 come with need to adjust

mcdevito75 here, The fast idle is needed when the engine is cold to make the air and fuel mixture rich to keep the engine running while cold, the carb. choke doew this with a bi-metalic spring in that balck round box on the side of the carb, a screw also hepls keep the choke closed until warm up, this screw can be adjusted tpo control how tight it holds the choke cloesed, here"s how to adjust this screw to slow fast idle speed, Locate on the carb, where the gas pedal connects, have a friend operate the gas pedal with the engine off, once you locate the linkage, you"ll also see 2 screws with springs around them, 1 is for fast idle the other for regular idle, you want the fast idle screw, notice this screw will lay against and Half moon shaped tab, while the other screw lays against a shaft, you need the screw that lays against the half moon shaped tab. Start the engine and step on the gas pedal slightly and relaease, at the screw that lays against this half moon, simply turn it counter clockwise or toward you just 1 2 or 3 turns very slowly, you'll hear the fast idle come down but you don"t want the fast idle to low, listen to the engine very carefully, slow it down just a bit, it should still race though but not out of control. Of course for a full carb, adjustment the shop should handle that., but this info will help.

Sounds like it sat allot.. That causes problems with the carbs.. I would say it runs pretty good for sitting so much.. I would suspect the carbs need cleaning.. or maybe rebuilt,, jetted and synced.. Try some carb cleaner and work you way up from there..

Rate well ;o)

Hard starting, poor runnig at low speed

Ok good that you have fresh fuel at all times :)
I would be having the carburettors dismantled and cleaned and a carb overhaul kit installed when you can. Carbs have low speed idle settings and high speed jets. Often these passages get blocked up woth gum or other foreign accumulations and cause running problems and fuel delivery issues.
