Question about 2000 Yamaha YZF-R1
I have a year 2000 yzf r1,when the bike is started it runs as normal but as the temperature increaces(on tickover) so does the rpm, they reach to round abouts 2000rpm.i was told it was the spark plugs,i have changed them and the problem continues, actually the revs go up a little higher than before.
also the carbs are fine(clean and balanced)so this is not the problem either.
Make sure your gas cable isnt binding (like dry never oiled) somewhere, that happens sometimes withjust a bit of exta heat. plugs have nothing to do with it. choke could be comming on (loose or binding) or not shutting off which would cause the rpm to go up as its warming. carb low idle screw is out or the worst-ignition module/computer screwed
