A yellow spark is a weak spark. A blueish white spark is normal. It sounds like the CDI is not in good shape. A dealer can quickly check the system and tell you what the bike needs.

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

Not really. The electronic diagnostic device is a special tool. Aside from that, today's electronics are not my specialty. Give me a piston or clutch any day. Check with a couple dealers, to see what they charge for a check.

Fuel line; filter... calcium build-up can cause this issue. It sounds like there may also be a loose connection via the wire chassis.

Hard to start when hot

Turn off fuel petcock before you shut down bike. Let idle for a couple minutes. When you restart leave fuel petcock off until it fires. This works for me when its really hot outside. 2007 VSTAR 1100 classic.

2001 nomad, has power commander, vance and hinse exhaust and hyper charger. Bike starts but miss fires. Bike seems to run better uphill then down hill. It started on day on a ride when the bike just died...

DRAIN CARBS FROM PETCOCK AT BOTTOM OF EACH CARB MAKE SURE FUEL DRAINS COMPLETELY THEN TURN FUEL BACK ON, IF THIS IS AN INJECTED MODEL DRAIN TANK AND FLUSH THEN RUN IT HARD FOR 20 MILES OR SO, MAKE SURE YOUR OIL LEVEL IS OK

NOT AT ALL LESS THAN $300!! This is a major fix, and will cost you about $95/hr x 4 hours PLUS (disposal fees, etc.) as well as over $600+ in parts. I just had mine done 2 months ago- cost me $995!
