SOURCE: 94 Buick Regal leaking break fluid on front right

Take the car back to the shop that did the brakes or have it towed if you need to. Calipers are not prone to going bad. It is possible but not likely. They may have tried to bleed the brakes and forgot to close the bleeder completely. One of the brake lines could have been compromised when the caliper was removed also. Be sure not to drive the vehicle if at all possible and I would insist on not paying for any additional repairs that are needed. Even if the issue was not caused by them directly, they should have inspected the system as a part of the service.

SOURCE: break fluid leaking in buckets from rear disc

It could be a brake line near the caliper, or the brake caliper itself:

Inspect/Service/Replace To be able to replace brake pads, service the rotor, or to replace the caliper, the caliper must be removed. The procedure for doing this will vary according to caliper design. Always follow the specific procedures given in a service manual. Use the following as an example of these procedures:

  • Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder.
  • Raise the vehicle and remove the wheel and tire assembly.
  • Make sure the correct caliper is installed on the correct anchor plate.
  • Lubricate the rubber insulators (if so equipped) with silicone dielectric compound.
  • On a sliding or floating caliper, install a C-clamp with the solid end of the clamp on the caliper housing and the screw end on the metal portion of the outboard brake pad. Tighten the clamp until the piston bottoms in the caliper bore , then remove the clamp. Bottoming the piston allows room for the brake pad to slide over the ridge of rust that accumulates on the edge of the rotor.

  • On threaded-type rear calipers, the piston must be rotated to depress it. This requires a special tool.

  • Disconnect the brake hose from the caliper and remove the copper gasket or washer and cap the end of the brake hose. If only the brake pads are to be replaced, do not disconnect the brake hose. If copper washers or gaskets are used, be sure to use new ones--the old ones might have taken a set and might not form a tight seal if reused.
  • Remove the two mounting brackets to the steering knuckle bolts. Support the caliper when removing the second bolt to prevent the caliper from falling.
  • On a sliding caliper, remove the top bolts, retainer clip, and antirattle springs.

  • On a floating caliper, remove the two special pins that hold the caliper to the anchor plate.

  • On a fixed caliper, remove the bolts holding it to the steering knuckle.
  • On all three types, get the caliper off by prying it straight up and lifting it clear of the rotor.
  • Fill the master cylinder reservoirs and bleed the hydraulic system.
  • Check for fluid leaks under maximum pedal pressure.
  • Lower the vehicle and road test it.

Replace the brake line, you can pick up the replacement line at the GM Dealer, Napa, or Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step instructions to replacing it with common tools. Once the line has been replaced, make sure you buy some brake fluid to be able to bleed the brake system to ensure there is no air in the system.

Fluid leaks

all that's over there is the rubber brake line and the caliper. Check all connections to lines. Check the bleeder on the caliper and makes sure the hose going to the caliper has the brass washers and the bolts tight

My front left tire on my 2000 chevy silverado is leaking fluid,

Something on the break system is leaking, maybe a pipe or even the caliper, every time you push pedal you are pushing the fluid out of the system. There are two types of pipes, a flexible and a copper one, check both for leak, take wheel off first. ( Put it on axle stands not on bricks)

Mushy or no breaks

bad master cylinder would be my first guess. also check if the fluid reservoir is empty, check if the rear wheel cylinder leaking. check if the front calipers are leaking also check the bleeder valves on the calipers and rear wheel cylinders to make sure they are not leaking. if everything is looking good top off brake fluid level and bleed the brakes.

Sounds as though you may either have a caliper or hose or maybe even a brake line leaking fluid. You would need to remove the wheel to find the leak.

Either the caliper seals are leaking or the hose that connects the caliper to the steel line.

Brake fluid is leaking out the front left tire!

This is most likely a busted or separated line that is connected to the brake housing(on the front tire assembly). inspect the line for a tight fit. replace the line and coupler if found to be defective.

In most severe cases, the caliber may be faulty.
