I have a 1400 Suzuki intruder the problem that I'm have is the negative post of my battery is melting. what could it be. The only attachment that I have on the bike is a phone charger

The head light have been replaced also

Then take of the phone charger and see if the problem continues to happen , if it does take it to a dealer before you burn the bike

Try jumping your cylonoid post with a screw driver if it starts you got a bad cylonoid more than likely,if not it could be the clutch safety switch.

I need instructions on how to put a battery in my 1991 Intruder 1400!? My son is away and he usually does it for me. thanks Joe D

Hey Joe ! Batt is either behind one of the sidecovers or under the seat. Start w/the sidecovers. Remove red and black wire from battery and pull it out. Make sure new batt has been trickle charged overnite...reinstall is opposite of removal, make sure red wire is on positive+ and black negative- Good Luck to you friend....tim
