1994 dodge dakato slt 3.9 how to remove headlight cover and side marker benzel

Trying to remove headlight cover and clean inside butdont know how to remove benzel and the adjustment cables on headlight cover

his being a 1994 Dodge Dakota, if it hasn't been altered some way you don't have headlight covers. They're either sealed beams or may have the twist-in bulbs. If they're sealed beams, you can't access the inside of them. If they have replacedable, twist-in bulbs, you can remove the headlight case. As the other solution advises, there are some torx-head screws holding the rectangular chrome bezel around the headlight. Remove those, then the bezel. Then there is a rectangular frame aorund the headlight assembly with a couple of screws on top and maybe on bottom. Remove those and the frame and you can remove the headlight. Un-twist the bulb-holder first. The only way to get inside it is through the hole the bulb-holder goes into. You can fill the head-light case part-way with warm soapy water and shake it to clean any dirt, then rinse. Maybe use a bottle-brush. Unless your truck has been in a flood or something, I don't know why there would be dirt/mud inside the case. If it's not a sealed-beam and has a clear plastic front on the case, it probably isn't dirt or mud, and is oxidation of the clear plastic. You could try using headlight lens restorer. You can buy a fairly cheap version at Dollar Stores, Walmart, or your auto parts store maybe. I have used it and it works pretty good. Just follow directions carefully. I hope this has been helpful.

SOURCE: change headlights and clean inside the lens

you cant really get inside of the lenses because they are glued together and usually break when you try to disassemble them. the lights should just turn slightly to the left and pull right out no special tools required.

headlight cover does not have to be removed. Open your hood and reach in to the back of the headlight assembly grasp the main headlight plug and pull while turning counter clockwise. the bulb should come out with the plug, the bulb will then unclip from the plug, good luck

The headlights will not operate. All other lights work. What could be the problem? 2007dodge ram 1500 slt

First check to see if there is voltage at the headlamp bulbs. If power then replace lights. If not, then check to see if current is coming out of the headlight switch.

How to replace the side marker/position light bulb on the driver side? I can't even get to it because i can't get the light housing off!

The Headlight Assembly is not difficult to remove but you do need to be careful NOT to pull on the Headlight Assembly and break the clips

1. Open the S60's hood and locate the pin that is behind the headlight assembly of the bulb that needs replacement. The pin has a handle on the top. Pull the pin straight out of the headlight assembly.

  • 2. Push on the back of the headlight assembly until it comes out the front of the S60. There is an electrical connection on the back of the assembly; unplug the connection.

  • 3. Press on both clamp on the assembly. The clamps are on either side. Push them in together so that the cover releases.

  • 4 Uncover the bulb by pulling on the small plastic cover that covers each bulb. Push the visible wire aside. Pull the bulb straight out.

  • 5 Push a new bulb in and push the metal wire back over it to secure the bulb in the assembly. Push the covers back on.

  • 6. Reconnect the electrical harness to the assembly and push the assembly back into place. Push the retaining pin all the way back down into place.

    Drivers side headlight bulb replacement

    1. Open the hood to the 1999 Dodge Stratus.

    2. Locate the two headlight lens assembly retaining screws at the top of each side of the assembly.
    3. Remove each screw with the ratchet and a suitable socket.
    4. Place the screwdriver behind the lens assembly to assist in prying out the guide pins that secure and align the headlight assembly. Hold the lens assembly from the outside edge (marker light/directional light section) first and pry from behind with the screwdriver to unseat the guide pins. Pry from the inside end of the lens assembly to unseat the other guide pin.
    5. Pull the lens assembly out far enough to reach behind it and disconnect the headlight bulb wire harness from the back of the bulb. Or simply remove the bulb by twisting the harness and retaining ring counterclockwise and remove it as an assembly.
    6. Turn the marker light/directional light socket and wire counterclockwise to remove it from the headlight lens assembly.
    7. Remove the assembly from the front of the Stratus.

Where is the location of the horn on a 1998 chevy cavalier

I believe the horn is located behind the passenger side headlight assembly. There is a pocket in that area where it is mounted. To gain access you will have to remove the headlight assembly. There is a shroud/cover that goes the whole length under the hood, there is a series of plastic fasteners that hold that cover in place. You will need to pop up center of fastener then the whole fastener will come out. There should be two 12 or 13 mm bolts that hold the headlight assembly to the vehicle. The side marker is part of that assembly I believe. If it is not, there is a tab that helps hold the side marker and headlight assembly together. After you remove the assembly the horn should be visible. Good luck.

    Change front turning ini. bulbs

Look at where the (3) lights come together, just above the lower light, and in the seam between the headlight and side marker. There is a small screw hidden in there. A "T-20" I believe. Remove that screw and persuade (gently but firmly) the side marker to come out.
