SOURCE: liftgate will not unlock

if it was mine I would take the rear inside door panel off and see if there is any rust or bind in the power door lock motor itself and also make sure that no one has broken a key off or stuck anything in the lock cause I had an expedition with this same problem and it was a broken key in the lock

SOURCE: How to close the trunk of a Cadillac Deville 1994

I'm sure you have cked the fuses so take a look at the motor assembly at the trunk latch to see if you can dis connect it. Better yet, first tap the motor a few times and make sure it is tightly mounted. Loosen it and retighten the bolts holding it. Sometimes that will relieve and bind the mechanism may be in. Keep your fingrts clear of any mechanism. You shoul be able to hear any movement. good luck.

SOURCE: Trunk Latch will not pull closed.

The small switch is the trunk by the pull down motor with the flap that depresses down is at fault. That is what you call the truck pull down switch. You can take this part and show it to a Cadillac or Ford parts department sales person and get a replacement for you car. Ford uses the same part for their Lincolns and Crown Vic's. The part is made by the very same supplier for Ford & GM. Ford will sell this part at a much lower cost as well compared to GM

Trunk wont unlatch with keyless entry remote or trunk release button on door on 1997 lincoln continental

It sure sounds like a fuse. You can check for proper voltage at the hot wire of the actuator while you try to pop it. I think you are overlooking the fuse. Make sure the actuator has a good ground as well.

What would you do when your 1996 lincoln town car doors won't lock with the key. And the trunk won't open.

How can a lock not lock or unlock with a physical key? Maybe the cylinders are frozen? Try squirting a little oil into the locks.
1996 Town Cars have keys and keyless entry. The physical keys are two, an ignition key and a door key. You can't use the door key in the ignition, nor the ignition key in the door. They aren't interchangeable.
The default key code for keyless entry is posted on the right trunk hinge, inside the trunk.

Need computer location in 2005 lincoln towncar

The code is on a paper label attached to a large plastic box containing several wiring harnesses behind the driver side door panel. Posts about it being on the trunk hinge arms, behind trunk panels, on computer module, behind the fuse box, and 'you have to go to the dealer' are incorrect for this series of Town Cars. After you remove the panel (you do not need to disconnect any wires), you will see the box up near the rear view mirror. An example code (3/4) (1/2) (5/6) (9/0) (1/2). If you press the keypad buttons in this order, left to right, the door locks will operate in the manner described in your opwner's manual.

Do a search on door panel removal to learn how to remove the panel. There are some good posts on this topic - some even have pictures.

I have 1992 Lincoln Towncar. I can use the keyless

You probably have a bad hazard switch.

For the code,
1. Look on the deck lid arms for a small tag with the permanent code.
2. If you purchased new, call selling dealer to see if they have it recorded on the invoice.
3. Look in the glove box owner manual package for a credit card size plastic card with the code number.
4. Pay dealer 1/2 hour labor charge to retrieve the code with their diagnostic tool. Confirm price ahead of time.
5. Look on keyless entry module for the tag with the code.

For 1994 town car, module is behind glvoe box. Not sure for 1992, sinnce 94 was a new model design.

How to get into trunk w/o keys and trunk opener. Keys are locked in trunk and button inside car is locked.

Using your keyless entry on the keypad, press the 5 digit code to get into the door and press the 6 key immediately after. Lincoln has several codes in addition to the 5 digit keyless entry like pressing the 3 to open all the doors, the 6 for the trunk and pressing the last 2 buttons at the same time to lock the doors.

Need help programing two keyless entry remotes

Enter the keyless entry code on the door keypad 3 times. Locks will cycle down and up after the third time. Press and release the "lock" button. Locks should cycle again. May need to hold down lock button for 2 sec rather than press and release. Program up to 4 remotes. If cycling the key on-then-off works, you'll probably have to do it quickly 8 times and after the 8th time, locks will cycle down then up and press and release the lock button.
