Depends on year, and type (4 speed, 5 speed, 6 speed, 3 speed with reverse, etc)

In 1962 Harley started stamping numbers on the transmissions (back then, the 4 speeds).
It's an alphabetical letter code followed by three or four digits.
CODE A-B = 1962-1963
CODE B-C-D = 1964
CODE C-D =1965
CODE D-E-F-G = 1966-1967
CODE J-K-L = 1969
CODE K-L = 1970

From 2000 on the transmission number system was year then 6 digit sequential transmission number, ie. 02 000123 would be a 2002 trans., 123rd built.

This should only be used as a guide only. Even Harley-Davidson admit there are some discrepancies in their numbering systems.

1992 Ramcharger LE 2wd 5.2L , Transmission would not work except reverse. I replaced it with a used transmission 3 weeks later transmision wont pull in any gear. Whats the problem?? Help

If you suspect it is the used transmission (from a salvage yard?), most salvage yards will give you a 30 day warranty, which doesn't include labor. You've got about a week to decide and let them know.

Transmision stuck in 2nd gear

Either shift linkage or most likely you will
have to pull the trans & replace all the synchros

Other than pulling it out
The trans is fairly easy to do

Ordered a new 65 vette back then
Had it apart all the time, for 8 years
Everything but the body off

Would rather live in the 1960's, than
in this mess we have today

All trans to engine bolts are removed. engine mounts are free, engine still won't come out. I don't know what else could possibly be keeping it from seperating. Is it absolutely necessary to remove...

YES YOU MUST SEPERATE TO GET TO FLYWHEEL
THER IS TWO DOWEL PIN ONE PER SIDE TOWADS THE TOP OF THE TRANSMISION
PART OF ENGINE BLOCK THEY OFTEN BIT AND HOLD ON GOOD IF YOU ARE SURE THAT
ALL THE BOLTS OF THE TRANSMISION ARE UNDONE YOU SHOULD PUT THE ENGINE MOUNT BOLT BACK IN PUT JACK UNDER FRONT OF ENGINE HARMONIQUE PULLEY TO
STABILIZED MOTOR THEN WITH SECOND JACK AT REAR OF TRANSMISION JACK UP TO
START THE RELEASE THEN LOWER BACK DOWN TO RELASE TOP OF TRANSMISION
THEN WITH SUTIBLE PRY BAR BETWEEN ENGINE AND TRANS PRY APART UNTIL FREE
FIRST I WOULD UNBOLT TORQUE AND PUSH BACK IN TRANSMISION AND PUT A RETAINER TO PREVENT TORQUE FROM FALLING OUT OTHERWISE YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE THE TORQUE PUMP INPUT SEAL IT WILL LEAK IF SEPERATED

Sanner said that the timing shift solenoid was bad on a 1996 silverado trans 4l60 no auto parts knows what that is, is it the same as transmision control solenoid?

Go to a trans repair shop, where you can talk to people, who know about your issues.

They can send you to the wholesale warehouse they use, to get the part, or have it on the next mornings delivery

I have a 2000 jimmy that the transmision is bad. I need to find a used replacement. What years and models can I use?

Never install a used trans
They are pure junk, just like your current one
You will be pulling that one in less than a year

Rebuild yours

( I used to own a trans shop)

I have a standard transmision Nissan Sentra 1995 model. I lost gears No. 3 and 4. I would like to repair it. Do you have any manual or guide I can use of how to dissamble the transmision and repare...

You need a trans shop and a lift , just to pull trans.
You won't like the price of any hard parts,if you need them,Nissan Only.
Used to own a trans shop,I would suggest you pass on that job, doing it yourself

I need to find where to add transmision fluid 2000 vette

Is it a manual or automatic trans? If it's auto trans, there will be a dipstick tube near the firewall on the passenger side. You fill the trans through the dipstick tube with a funnel.Careful not to overfill. If it's a manual trans, there will be a plug halfway up the side of the trans.Remove the plug & fill till it starts to leak out the plug hole.Be sure to use the recommended fluid in either case.Good luck,

Getting auto trany out

to pull the top transmision bolts you need about 3 feet of extentions so your ratchet is backat the tail stock of the transmision. or drop the trans mount and allow the trans to lowwer to the ground . you may want to remove the fan so it does not hit the radiator. as well as use a floor jack to lower the trans. good luck

No reverse..1998 exporer sport 2 door 4x4 sohc v6 auto

your transmission part number for a motocraft rebuilt trans would be TRM1341, as far as they list it the transmission was only for that year, meaning you would need to find another 1998 explorer or 1998 mercury mountaineer in order to replace your trans. hope this helps :)

Transmision

Sine I don't know the engine or the trans used in your car I will give you both locations of te filter.
If it is the external spin on filter it is near the top of the trans case, if it is the flat filter it is inside the trans pan.
