SOURCE: 03 YZ125 Swingarm Bolt

Sounds like the bolt is rusted on. Try a few things.

  • Heat the bolt and nut with a propane torch. Tap the nut with a hammer or punch as it cools. Try it now.
  • Take a hacksaw and make a diagonal cut across a face of the nut. Be careful not to get into the threads too much. Cutting the nut will relieve the pressure on the bolt. You may need to cut a second face of the nut also.
Let us know how things turn out.
Please rate this solution. Thanks

SOURCE: can not remove swingarm pivot bolt

Secure the bike with the rear tire off the ground.

Take the nut off the one side of the pivot bolt.

Now get a rubber mallet or deadblow, and beat that pivot bolt hard a few hits
Don't be afraid to hit it hard, because thats what it'll take to get it out.
DO NOT use a hammer and beat the threads or mushroom the end of the pivot bolt or you'll never get it out unless you cut it off.

use one hand to hold the swingarm while tapping the bolt, which will take a little pressue off the bolt making it slide out with each tap.

Before reassemble, clean the bolt and the threads.

How to change a swingarm on a harley davidson flhtc

Remove the rear wheel, brakes and shocks. Remove the silver plugs in the center of the passenger footboard mounts. Remove the rear floorboard mounts, and the rubber mounts behind them. Remove the bolt on the left side of the swingarm pivot. Chances are the pivot bolt is rusted in, so you may have to pound it out with a drift. Replace the rubber mounts when you put everything back together.

Taking the motor out of my dirtbike

The motor mounts at 4 points-cylinder head, 2 under the front of the motor, and the swingarm pivot bolt. In order remove- seat, tank, rear subframe, exhaust.Remove the motor mount at the rear of the head, leave the throttle cables on the carb, unplug the wires to the TPS and remove the carb.Bag it and tie it up out of the way. Remove top bolt of rear shock and the swingarm bolt, pull the entire swingarm and suspension back as far as you can-you'll need the room to back the motor up a little to get it out of the frame. Unplug the ignition wires, and remove the last 2 mounting bolts from the front of the motor thru the frame. from the left side of the bike, back the motor up and rotate the front toward you and it comes right out. Actually took a break from installing a fresh Honda 250 R motor to write you this tip! Good luck!

Ignition switch is broke

Here are procedures for removing the ignitionlock assy. If equipped with SRS, extra care must be taken while removing ang installing to avoid damage to the SRS cable reel.

IGNITION SWITCH & LOCK CYLINDER
Removal
1. Remove steering wheel and combination switch (if necessary). Disconnect ignition switch harness connectors. If shear bolt studs are accessible, use a hacksaw to cut slots into exposed studs.

2. Remove studs using a screwdriver. If shear bolt studs are recessed or hard to reach with hacksaw, use a center punch on studs. Using a drill bit and screw extractor, remove studs. Place key in ACC position and remove ignition switch and lock cylinder.

Installation

To install, reverse removal procedure. Install NEW shear bolts. Tighten shear bolts finger tight. Ensure proper operation of ignition switch and lock cylinder. Tighten shear bolts until heads break off. Install combination switch, upper and lower steering column covers and steering wheel (if removed). Tighten steering wheel nut and Torx screws to specification.

Im putting new bearings in my 05 crf230f suspension linkage, but cnt figure it all out, anby help???

where to start... i'm not sure where you are in the R&R of your bearing so lets start after the rear wheel is off. remove your lower shock bolt and linkage ( mark all parts while removing them so you'll know where they go ) now remove the swingarm bolt, you'll have spacers in there so WATCH where they come from. Now you have the swing arm in your hand. remove the seals, take you punch and start to knock out the bearings be carefull not to dug into the swing arm. do the same for the linkage. grease new bearing, install the new bearings a socket is a driver install seals, spacers, swingarm, linkage ect..

How do i remove chain

Loosen nuts on bolts which maintain tension. After that remove anything in your way. Conversely, after loosening tension use a chain splitter. They are cheap and may speed up process. Don't forget to get the new link you will have to install. Regardless of which way u go, mark the exact spot on swingarm and bolts where they were originally so you may re-install to correct tension.
