Question about 2006 Keeway Hurricane 50

Keeway hurricane 50 keeps over revving

Had new throttle cable fitted but it still over revs.would be grateful for some advice.

On the connection to the throttle there are two nuts. One long. The other short. The short one is the lock nut. Loosen the lock nut all the way towards the right side of the scooter then turn the longer nut towards the short nut while feeling the throttle play. Once you feel some slack then back the long nut off about 1/2 turn. You should have little play but not too much. 9 nice you find the sweet spot for the long nut turn the lock nut counter clockwise until it is snug to to the long nut. Use two wrenches one to hold the long nut. The other to tighten the short nut to the long nut.. This should help. If not then your problem lies in your idle adjust screw. YouTube has vids showing how to adjust that screw.

if its the line at the very bottom of the carb its the overflow for the bowl and it doesnt go anywhere

if you look down from the handle bars to where your feet go you will see a little rectangle on the plastic, if you pop this off the VIN is underneath

SOURCE: what is the correct tyre

Look at the sidewall of both tires. There will be a 'MAX PSI' embossed on the tire. It will probably say Max 45 PSI. At 45psi the bike will ride like a rock. At 15psi it will ride really squirrely. Find a psi at which you feel the bike handles well and rides well. One rider may weigh 125 pounds and the next rider may weigh 300 pounds. The best psi for each rider will be different due to weight. Chances are that 30 to 35 psi will do the trick. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks.

Over revving


New throttle cable?

Was it properly adjusted?
There should be just a little slack when throttle grip is at idle position.

Check cable routing, making sure there are no sharp bends, or it's hanging up on something.

Finally, lube the cable.

Keeway xray wont start


Hi, Bernado45 before testing any electrical component in the Starter Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test because your battery may have 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amps causing the battery to be faulty and must be replaced, especially "AGM" batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid or starter circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

Keeway hurricane 50 .the electricty went off suddenly


Hello and happy thanksgiving from the USA.
I would suspect that you have a defective igntion switch, the igntion switch is what powers up all of the electrical system when you turn the key to run, the contacts can get burnt or the connector or both. The switch is under/behind the ignition key cylinder which operates the switch or course.

I have an apache 110cc quadbike , it starts and runs fine but won't pull off from a standing start if ya put full throttle on it just creeps forward but if you pick back wheels off the floor it spins...


If the engine doesn't slow down or bog when you try to pull away, then it is indeed the clutch. If you have fitted a new clutch, you either have it assembled incorrectly, or it is badly adjusted. There are generally two adjustments on a clutch, one on the centre push rod, and another for cable slack.

However, yours has fully automatic centrifugal transmission but it still has adjustment that needs doing.

2008 Keeway Arn 125 high idle


Hi, W32twood and the usual suspects are:
1. Throttle cables improperly adjusted, pinched or need lubrication.
2. Idle adjusting screw needs to be backed off.
4. Air fuel mixture adjusted too lean start with 2 full turns.
5. Intake system air leak.
6. Fast idle choke ramp is not releasing.
7. Faulty automatic choke.
8. Broken throttle return spring.
9. Damaged diaphragm or slide.
10. Faulty MAP, TPS, ATS, O2, sensors or wiring/connector.
11. Multiple carburetors not in sync.
