How many miles on the bike? What is the battery voltage with key off, and has it been load tested? How many volts is your charging system putting out? When were the valves checked last, and what are their current specs?

Is it the 01 we're talking about here? The carbs sound like they need to be jetted. Did this just start happening or did you move? Just buy the bike from another state? Does it burn rich when it does run? Does the exhaust burn your eyes? I had a hard time getting my 99 750 to run right, the factory set jets didn't work so I bought a jet kit from Dynojet, and it worked perfect. It is adj also, so if you move up into the mountains you can adjust your carbs. Also had one of those fancy air filters on there, had to take it off, cause it didn't work right either, went back to stock.

Hi my suzuki gz 125 wont idle correctly and when i rev the engine it just dies down and cuts out i cant even achieve a stable idle speed

I had this problem today with my bike and after much ado I discovered there was oil in the air filter box... check your oil level it could be too full. Mines was and the excess oil was blown into the air filter box and as a result contaminated the air filter. Spent today cleaning the filter box, carb and draining and changing oil, could not get a new air filter today so ran it without onebike runs like new!! New air filter will be here Monday!

2000 Buell Blast runs great around town. Freeway speeds runs for 3 to 5 miles then out of nowhere dies. Acts like it's running out of fuel then dies. I have pulled the carb and cleaned the jets. C

If it starts up after sitting for a few minutes, (like 2 or 3) it could have a plugged fuel filter or the gas tank strainer built into the fuel valve could be plugged too. Drain the gastank anyway and change the gas with fresh. can't hurt. If it takes 15-30 minutes or after the bike cools some I would look at an ignition coil. Check to see if it has spark next time it quits.

When I start my 2003 Vstar 1100 Classic, and as i give it throttle during ideling, it dies out? Also as im driving my bike and i come to a red light and i down shift and the idle lowers, it dies out, but...

There are a few quick things to try before cleaning the carbs.

1.Clean your air filter, it may be choking out, trust me a dirty air filter will choke out a bike.
2.Check your spark plugs. If they are black and sooty, change them out. Its quick and less expensive.

I diagnosed a 2001 Roadking Fuel injected. Ran like ****, hardly any throttle response, died at idle.
the customer said he just had it serviced a month ago at the dealer.
I pulled the plugs and they were nasty. The dealer forgot to change out the sparkplugs. It Happens
I Put in a new set of spark plugs and the bike ran like new.
I've fixed a bunch of bikes in the past and this one always stuck in my mind because of the difference in performance.

Try the sparkplugs, i think its more likely to be that than the air filter.

A fterI warm up my 01 rm 250 my bike don't start

Possibly the choke is getting stuck internally, Even thoug the leaver may be in the closed (normal) position, it may be sticking internally. Try removing the choke and cleaning the passage with some carb cleaner, then replace the lever. The bike could run with a partially cloged choke but would be tough to start when warm due to too much fuel. Another thing to check, when it is hard to start, just after kicking it over a few times, remove the spark plug and see if it is wet with gas. My guess is that's it's soaked. Good luck.

Bike dies if rpm rise above 4 or 5

Hi!

That clicking noise comes from the start-relay, that tells your battery is out of power or almost out of power, when the battery isent giving enough of power the start-relay clicks. Recharge the battery,
Now for that other thing, that your bike dies around 4-5 rpm, that can be caused by many things but i think that you will find the solution in the carbs. You told us that the bike has been standing outside for 3 years, that tells me that you carbs is in need of cleaning. Inside the carbs is a lot of smal parts that opens and closes when you hit the gas, after so long time outside some part dosent work as they should, therefore when you hit the 4-5rpm the bike dosent get the right mix of fuel and air since the carbs harsh and the bike dies.
Take the bike to a repaire shop and let them clean and calibrate the carbs and your problem will be solved.

Good luck

Problem start bike. Push a starter and only clik , bike wont start. Suzuki 250gc 2004

Sounds like a bad battery. Try charging overnight with a 1 or 2 amp charger.
If this doesn't help then go to the dealer and ask for the stock plugs for your bike. Check for spark on each of the new plugs then install the plugs.

Remove the carbs , dissemble it and clean the varnish out. Remove the petcock, ( gas valve ),water trap and clean it out. Next let one cup of gas flow into a container. Any water or rust in the bottom of the container? If any rust was in the water trap or the container then purchase an inline fuel filter to eliminate the rust getting into the carb.

If cleaning the carb yourself does not do the trick then take it to the dealer and have them clean it and install a carb kit. This should eliminate the carb as a problem. Get a new air filter and install it.

Now you have spark, gas and air. If it still will not start it is likely that you need new crank seals. On a bike that old you may well need new crank bearings as well.
