Most likely the wiring from the ignition to the frame.

SOURCE: fuel pump won't power up on 94 rf600r

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On most Suzukis with fuel pump that I have worked on, the wiring would be:

  • Yellow/Green - start interlock, connected to the clutch lever position switch and/or starter control relay;
  • Black/White - ground;
  • Orange/Yellow - ignition B+12; and
  • Black/Yellow - trigger pulse, connected to the - terminal of one of the ignition coils and/or to the CDI/igniter.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

The ignition switch is bad. Mine did the same thing when it went bad. The switch from HD is about $60.00 or you can buy an after market switch for about $20.00. Real easy to change.

1977 kawasaki kz 650 no power or start.

It sounds like something may have shorted, come loose, or burned out.
Tracing where this is will take time and a multimeter to test all connections.

My owners manuel doe'nt say there is a fuse box on my r1200rt. You where talking about a fuse #2 where would I find that? and where can I find green and white wire to the head lights?

The BMW R1200RT manual is correct - there is no actual fuse box in this bike since there are no actual fuses : the circuits are powered thru power transistors that act as relays and they are electronically monitored by the CAN-BUS system; if the current passing thru one of it is larger than it should the transistor is instantly shut down, cutting the power. The power will remain cut in that circuit for as long the fault is present - the circuit will be tested every time the bike is started.
Whoever was saying something about fuses was wrong, don't listen to him.
If you have a problem that looks like a fuse issue then you must find out what caused it. If the problem is related to the headlamp wiring then you will have to dismantle the light and start checking the wires going to the bulb - follow them all the way to the switch then test it. A simple multimetre set on resistance will suffice.

WHEN STARTING WILL BLOW 15 AMP FUSE DOSENT DO IT ALL THE TIME SOUNDS LIKE THE FUEL PUMP ISNT TURNING ON

Hi, Ppfeifer1 you have a dead short which is usually the easiest to find. Using a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder, start probing the wire leaving the fuse holder about an inch away the test light should illuminate, keep probing towards the ignition switch until the test light no longer illuminates you are now very close to the short. Where are the fuses on the bmw 650 scarver ?? thanks

The fuses on the F650CS (scarver) are located under the seat.... remove the seat first. Then look up near the RHS area usually covered by the front of the seat and there will be a small black plastic cover over top of the fuse box. Remove the cover to access the fuses.

Lost all power all of a sudden 1977 corvette

do you know what fuse links are,and what they look like? usually down at the starter,the 2 or 3 hot wires besides the main battery cable all connect they feed the power to the fuse box,ignition and accessories,they have black square rubber blocks on them usually 3 or 4 inches from the starter they are built in fuses in the wires themselves check continuity throught them,if you already know about them ,the head light switch and the ignition switch are the first place i would look ,especially if they are original

CANT FIND FUSEBOX ON BMW R60

it would be a box about 3" by 1 1/2" with glass fuses in it , probably under seat or behind the side panel. find the red wire from battery and follow it. it should take you to the fuse box. you may find that your bike don't even have a box just a main 30a fuse on the red battery wire
