If the steering wheel won't move either, then just put the key in the ignition and wiggle the steering wheel or pull a little harder to the left while turning the key. Happens all the time when people push themselves out of the car by the steering wheel. They lock the steering wheel, which locks up the ignition.

CAUTION LOCKING WITH REAR DOOR CHILDPROTECTORS Turn the lock knob to the "LOCK" position as shown on the label. 96 camry ignition key very hard to turn. have to violently jiggle, turn wheel, stomp brakes to get ignition to turn. is it ignition, steering lock, breaks?

Have you tried getting a new key cut? Worn keys can do that. Other than that I would say a worn out ignition lock cylinder. Mike

Lock then unlock the doors with the power lock button, with all doors closed (key not in ignition). If this doesnt work, try again using the key to lock and unlock from the driver door, with all doors closed.

96 Toyota Camry keys are not working to open locked door from outside. First the passenger side and now the driver's side door.

Try spraying some silicon lubricant into the keyhole and slide the key in and out a few times.

If this does not work you may have to remove the interior door panel and trouble shoot the lock mechanism.

It's also possible the lock cylinders are worn and need to be rebuilt. This can be done by a qualified locksmith (look for a AAA certified locksmith). Or you can order new lock cylinders and get them re-keyed to match your ignition key.

Can't turn key all the way on 1996 Toyota Camry.

Is your steering wheel locked? Turn the key as much as you can, then turn the steering wheel and see if it releases the lock. You should be able to completely turn the key after this.

IM HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THE OLD IGNITION OUT. THE IGNITION IS COMING OUT OF A 1996 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

You may have to drill out the lock pin in the cylinder. This is the pin that you have to push in to remove the cylinder.

Can not turn the key .on my 1996 toyota camry

Look for a certified diagnostic centre so your car can be properly checked. I suspect that it has a security code issue. It can only be corrected that way. Try it out and get back to me. +2348023080045

Toyota Camry power windows not working from master switch

Their are two fuses that power this system. One is a 15 amp gauge fuse and the other one is a 30 amp main power fuse. You can also check the power main relay, your ignition switch, or i could possibly be a fault in the wiring
