Question about Honda Valkyrie Interstate Motorcycles
My 2000 Vakyrie will start normally and warm up and idle normally. After going down the road for about 5 miles at like 45mph it will start run rough. If I stop for a bit and keep it idling it clear up. Once I head down the road again for a mile or two it runs rough again.
Carb needs ajust in the jet area--let a pro du this cause if u git it tu lean engine damage can happen--the mid to high speed jets shud be lookd at--also caarb may b dirty-take air cleaner off and spray some solvent in ther--stil mite need rebuildn

Stock size for the slow jet is 35. Some guys put in 38's to make them less prone to getting plugged. I would say that you still have gunk in the slow jets. Also turn the pilot screws out 2 1/4turns. If the exhaust pops and you have no exhaust or vacuum leaks turn the pilot screws in 1/4 turn at a time till it goes away.
Did you change the plugs and the air filter? How about checking and or replacing the vacuum lines?
You might try a full bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner in a tank of gas. It may clear the problem up.
I had to clean the jets on my 1999 I/S twice and it's not a fun job.

SOURCE: Honda Valkyrie runs rough
Your carburetors have varnished fuel in them and need cleaning. You most likely have clogged slow and fast jets. The fouled plugs pretty much say it all with this regard.
