The clicking sound is a bad battery. If it was the starter not engaging, you would hear it spin or the wire would heat up and smoke.... The battery should be trickle charged and then checked to see if the starting power is good. Even if the batery charges, it may not have enough amps to turn the srter over. A bad battery wil also damage a starter. Make sure the battery is fully charged and proper amps to make sure it will srart your motor. Hope this helps. TOM

SOURCE: I have a Suzuki vs800, 2001, and my starter won't click. Turns on, lights all that, will jump, push start, the button just won't click and turn over. Fuses are good too. Any insight would be amazing.
