You didn't say what YEAR yours is, so I can only guess.

Here's the info for a 2000 model year:

http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/2000-yamaha-banshee-350-yfz350m-crankshaft-piston/o/m145962sch105466

You'll notice the seal (#11) has a lip that goes towards the engine.

SOURCE: banshee wont rev

Usually related to TORS, specifically the safety switch in the clutch/park brake assembly. If it's defective the engine won't rev. Solution: look for a TORS removal kit.

I have a 2004 banshee at the yamaha dealer being worked on.It would not run when i took it up there they cleaned the carbs and put it back together it will start but when you rev it, it holds itself wide open and wont shut down unless you pull the plug wires.they also checked the floats in the carbs said they where ok. they think it is a vent issue with the gas tank or the fuel shut off valve.IS THAT POSSIBLE

SOURCE: Fork seal replacement on 82 yamaha 750 seca

On the top and bottom parts of the triple tree either both or one will have bolts. First take the fender off. Take the front tire off. Loosen the bolts on the triple tree. They should slide down. If not you have to get a rubber mallet and tap on the top of the fork and twist the fork as you are doing this. Once it is out, pull the dust seal off the top of the lower fork. There will be a clip inside, take the clip off drain the oil out of the top or bottom depending on how the forks are made. Push the fork tube down into the lower fork slightly, pull both apart with a firm tug and they should separate.

1998 Banshee. Why is there no throttle response when wheels are straight?

Hi, John your throttle cables may be out of adjustment, you have pinched or kinked the cables either at the steering neck area or in between the tank and frame area or the cables are dry and clogged with dirt and or rust for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please visit the websites below. I have found that the jet ski will start prior to entering the water, but as soon as I launch the ski will not start...unless I remove the air filter case cover.? Any idea why this can happen?

Your stator sounds like it maybe not supplying enough ignition spark when the motor is under a load. When you put the ski in the water the motor is under much more of a load then when out of the water or on a trailer. Those are the signs of a stator going bad. Another option would be leaking crank seals. The seals need to hold pressure to pump the fuel to the motor. Sometimes the crank seals can burn up the stator if the seals are leaking. You can remove the flywheel cover and to inspect for a leaky front crank seal. It should be dry inside, but if it is all oily and wet, your seals are leaking.

I took a standard stator off my Yamaha banshee "2004" and replaced it with a 100 watt stator could that be causing it to pop from the tailpipe??

Popping from the tail pipe usually has to do with either excess air in getting in to the system or unburnt fuel. Look for air leaks in the air intake or exhaust system instead.

Why is my Yamaha Banshee is hard to start

It looks like your compression is too low (worn rings from dusted motor) Push starting spins the motor faster than kick starting and when hot the rings expand just enough to seal off. Before kicking a cold motor try putting in a squirt or two of engine oil in the plug hole to see if there is a difference.

I have a bad rattling noise coming from the left hand side crank case any idea ? yamaha 350 banshee year 2005' i have chosen an rd 350 because it doesnt let me choose a banshee

My best guess would be you've lost a magnet from your flywheel or some component from your stator has come loose and is contacting the flywheel. Pulling the left hand cover and have a look...
Take care.

2002 YAMAHA BANSHEE WILL NOT REV

When was the last time new crank bearings and seals were installed? With all the work you have done on the carb I think the problem is the crank seals. But, check the bearings. At rest, the flywheel must be rock solid > no movement up or down, left or right.

If the bearings are solid then only replace the seals. Chances are the engine can stay in the frame if only the seals are being replaced. Best part is that seals are a low cost item.

One other possibility is a partially blocked exhaust system. Check the exhaust first. Checking the exhaust doesn't cost anything. Disconnect the exhaust pipes from the motor. Excite the neighbors by a quick ride down the street with no muffler. If the problem is instantly fixed then get a new exhaust.

Please rate this solution as " FixYa " if able. Thanks!
