Question about Motorcycles
Hi I was wondering which way the stator side crank seal should fitted on a Yamaha banshee. Looks like it could go both ways?.It is a genuine yamaha seal one outer lip is green an doesn't have the rubber coating. Thankyou
You didn't say what YEAR yours is, so I can only guess.
Here's the info for a 2000 model year:
You'll notice the seal (#11) has a lip that goes towards the engine.

I'll post the address for you to get the manual you need and the web site has an online parts manual but it does not offer a repair manual for free. Do you still want the web URL?

SOURCE: banshee wont rev
Usually related to TORS, specifically the safety switch in the clutch/park brake assembly. If it's defective the engine won't rev. Solution: look for a TORS removal kit.

SOURCE: 2002 YAMAHA BANSHEE WILL NOT REV
I have a 2004 banshee at the yamaha dealer being worked on.It would not run when i took it up there they cleaned the carbs and put it back together it will start but when you rev it, it holds itself wide open and wont shut down unless you pull the plug wires.they also checked the floats in the carbs said they where ok. they think it is a vent issue with the gas tank or the fuel shut off valve.IS THAT POSSIBLE

On the top and bottom parts of the triple tree either both or one will have bolts. First take the fender off. Take the front tire off. Loosen the bolts on the triple tree. They should slide down. If not you have to get a rubber mallet and tap on the top of the fork and twist the fork as you are doing this. Once it is out, pull the dust seal off the top of the lower fork. There will be a clip inside, take the clip off drain the oil out of the top or bottom depending on how the forks are made. Push the fork tube down into the lower fork slightly, pull both apart with a firm tug and they should separate.
