How do I replace the upright locking foot pedal on my Bissell 3760-4

Replacing the upright locking foot pedal on a Bissell 3760-4 is a fairly straightforward process. Here are the steps you can follow:
  1. Turn off and unplug the vacuum cleaner.
  2. Lay the vacuum cleaner on its side so that you can access the bottom of the machine.
  3. Locate the locking foot pedal and use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold it in place.
  4. Once the screws are removed, gently pull the old locking foot pedal away from the vacuum cleaner.
  5. Take the replacement locking foot pedal and position it in the same spot where the old one was removed.
  6. Use the screwdriver to attach the replacement locking foot pedal with the screws you removed earlier.
  7. Test the new locking foot pedal to make sure it works properly and holds the vacuum cleaner in the upright position.
  8. Once you are satisfied with the new locking foot pedal, flip the vacuum cleaner back over to its normal upright position.
  9. Plug in the vacuum cleaner and turn it on to make sure everything is functioning properly.
With these steps, you should be able to successfully replace the upright locking foot pedal on your Bissell 3760-4.

How do I diagnosis a problem with my foot pedal on a euro 9120. It appears the machine is not seeing it??

You have to remove it and test the connections with a multimeter. Sometimes they just need cleaning inside. The graphic seems to be telling you it thinks the foot pedal is partially depressed and won't let you use it. Turn the machine off and pull the upper part of the foot pedal upwards. Then reconnect.

Broken foot pedal riccar 8850

Remove the assembly that holds the foot pedal by removing the three screws after you've removed the bottom plate and brush roll. This allows you to get the nozzle housing out of the way so you can rotate the assembly holding the foot pedal from the metal pivot. Remove the e clips from the shaft and pull the shaft out of the foot pedal (be sure to look closely at the spring and how the shaft are positioned so you can be sure to install them exactly the same way you took them off. It is not a hard job but can be confusing the first time. It's not an expensive fix to have done by your Riccar dealer.

Hello again,

Please note that the Smart car is equipped with an auto brake system where if you remove your foot off the brake pedal , it will not disengage till you press the gas pedal , other wise you might have a problem .
Please try with out having your foot over the brake pedal and get back to us.

I have a bernina 800 over 30 years old and foot pedal stuck on on

Your foot pedal is nothing more than a variable resistance switch, (think dimmer switch) They do get gunked up from use and dust and stuff. Unplug your machine. remove the foot pedal from the machine too... flip it over and look for a build up of threads jammed between the top of the foot pedal and the body of the foot pedal. Remove them. You can also look for and unscrew the screws and open up the foot pedal. (avoid removing/unscrewing wires). See if there is rust, dust, fluff etc that is interfering with action and release of the pedal.

Spray some electronics cleaner in and around the foot pedal area and leave open to dry at least 2 hours. put it back together and give it a try.

If you are timid about attempting this kind of thing or think you may be called away in the middle of looking into your pedal's problem. Take pictures as you take it apart so when you put it back together you have a visual guide.

Good luck

How to fit a foot release pedal on a samsung su2931 vacuum cleaner

I have a Samsung SU2920. The pedal has broken. Spare is available on espares. To remove the broken pedal:
Turn the machine over and locate the foot pedal side near a rear wheel.
Operate the pedal to see how it is held in place by a moulded pin which is captured by two lugs on the underside of the body. Use a torch to get some light in there.

Insert a thin blade on either side to bend the plastic lugs slightly so that the moulded pin on the foot pedal can slide upwards without being held by the lugs. The pedal will not slide up easily. I used a hammer and a metal bar to tap it free.
Once the pedal is removed, the spare can be clicked into place from the top without tools.

I have a Kenmore sewing machine Model 158, 1792280. The foot pedal is not working well; I was sewing normally and when I finished, I removed my foot from the foot pedal but the machine continue sewing. I...

Buy a new foot pedal for it, probably one of the electrical components inside the foot has failed.

There are Kenmore footcontrols for sale on www.sewingpartsonline.com. You could email them to check its right for your model if it isn't listed.

Obviously I'm assuming that you are in USA with 110 Voltage and that is what your machine is. If not and your country is 220V, you would need to source it from a reseller in your own country or another with the same voltage.

Wont hold idle will start with foot depressing gas pedal will run with foot on gas but stalls when foot removed

Check and clean Idle air control valve. Make sure its responding to signal as well. Also make sure ther are no vacuum hoses disconnected. This may not be a "cure" but it's a good place to start.
