How do you lift a 1982 yamaha 920 virago to the center stand

Left hand on handlebar grip, right hand on handle under the seat, right foot on the centerstand lever, bike vertical on flat ground with the handlebars/front tire straight. Push down on the foot lever of the stand while lifting from the handle. Most of the work done is by pushing the lever and the lift handle is mostly for stabilizing and helping to raise the bike. This applies to all bikes and once you get the feel for it you'll find that any size bike is pretty easy to put on the stand. I can center stand my CBR1100XX while on the bike, first time was hard, but once I got it down it's fairly easy.

I have a 1992 Suzuki Intruder GLS 800. It has no centre stand, can one be put onto this bike safely?

you can buy a jack stand that slides under ur bike that when lifted it will rest on ur frame but them kind only work if ur mufflers done hang down below ur frame but them stands r pretty cheap to find but as far as putting one on ur bike then id say if it not factory dont add it it will change everything the factory guys did to give u the best and most smooth ride when u go changing thing it will change how the vibrations go through ur bike evenly changing things will cuz more vibrations an problems down the road

Is their an easy way to get a heavy touring bike up on it's center stand?

centre stands are designed to lift and rock themselves backwards as you press down on the stands pedal...press down harder with your foot rather than trying to lift with your hands

1989 GOLDWING MOTOR CYCLE WILL NOT SHIFT. HAS BEEN SITTIN IN GARAGE FOR TWO YEARS ON CENTER STAND. IT STARTS UP FINE WHEN BUT IN GEAR IT LUNGES FORWARD AND STALLS

Sounds like the clutch is sticking. You may be able to free it off. Bike on centre stand, rear wheel off the ground, run engine, front brake hard on, pull in clutch and put in gear. Apply rear brake. May work, may not. Be careful to keep rear wheel off the ground.

Suzuki burgman 650 won,t change gear

I had the same problem until I found out that when you put the Burgman on it's center stand, it pushes a small round metal pin (spring loaded or something similar) that limits the Burgman to 1st gear only. Some kind of safety feature, I guess. You can see the little switch if you put the bike on it's side-stand, get down on the right hand of the bike and look where the centre stand meets with the body of the bike. My switch was stuck in permanent "on" so I just pulled the pin to it's full extention with a pair of pliars, then cut it with a junior hacksaw.
