Hi Anonymous, there are two both on the right side of the carburator. The screw with the spring behind it adjusts the idle and the idle air fuel mixture screw is behind a plug in the standoff. If you drill out the plug you gain access to the screw, then adjust and reseal with silicone. Good luck

How do you adjust idle on 2005 dyna fxdl low rider?

On the carb the cable closest to the right side of the bike is the throttle cable and the one closest to the left side is the idle cable. Right about the middle between the two is the idle adjustment screw. It faces out towards the air filter end of the carb . The engine should be at operating temperature with the enrichener off to set the idle between 950-1050 rpm. Turn the screw clockwise to increases idle speed and counterclockwise to decrease idle speed. EFI idle speed is computer controlled.

How do i lean out carb on 2003 dyna

This is done by changing the main jet for full throttle adjustments, adjusting the metering rod (jet needle) clip position for midrange and the pilot (slow) jet for idle and just off idle. There is also usually a mixture screw on the carb somewhere, location depending on which carb, that will also control the low speed mixture. Why are you wanting to lean the jetting. If a carb becomes rich for some reason the solution would be to fix the problem not band-aid it with leaner jetting.

What is the factory setting of the idle mixture screw on a 1997 Dyna Wide Glide?

If your bike is equipped with the original Keihen CV carb, you should not be able to adjust the idle mixture as the mixture adjustment screw was covered by an "anti-tamper" plug from the factory. If someone has drilled this out, there has probably been some other modifications made as well. The initial setting for this carb is about 3 1/4 turn off the bottom.

Good Luck

Where is idle and can I adjust it myself, on my 2003 dyna lowrider?

You can adjust it IF your bike is equipped with a carb. You may have to take the outer air filter cover off. Look at the top of the carb. Just to right of the round looking top is the idle stop screw. Clockwise to speed it up.

Good Luck

Hi Woodwerkjerk, I,m leaning towards an electrical issue, try swapping spark plugs and do a resistance test on your spark plug cables and ignition coil. Good luck and have a nice day.

I don't know which carb you have, whether it is a S&S or whatever. Try adjusting the low-end adjustment on the trottles throat. It may take a few trys as I, nor aparently you, know which way it needs to go with limited information. But I believe that this is where your problem lies.

Carburator needs ajusting with stage 1

Unless the "anti-tamper plug" has been removed that covers the idle mixture screw, you cannot adjust the carb. If the plug has been removed, you adjust the carb exactly like you would any other carb, for the highest, smoothest idle speed. Once this is obtained, adjust the idle stop screw to obtain the correct idle speed of 1000-1100 RPM.
