Check the fuses. Is the kill switch on or shorting out? Disconnect it and then check for spark. Sidestand/centerstand should be up, Got a good battery?

I am unfamiliar with your Keeway and just trying to help. Don't give me a bad rating if I miss the mark on this one. Thanks.

SOURCE: is it Possible Tha Carburator Dirty Could cause The bike no Star

Yes, a dirty Carburetor can stop the engine from running.

Drain the carburetors. There should be a screw on the lower side of each CARB float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Is there any water in the gas? Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, (not all bikes have a water trap bowl). Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carbs to fill with gas. Try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetors from the engine.

FOR EACH CARB > Remove the float bowl and clean the entire
Carb with a spray Carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the Carb.

FOR NO SPARK > Check the fuses. Next, check for spark but with a new spark plug. How good is the battery? Is the kill switch on? Does the side stand have a kill switch? Is it working properly? Tip-over kill switch on your bike? Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter.

Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? Any abraded or pinched wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing. If still no spark, get CDI system and coils checked at the dealers shop.

Please rate this answer. Thanks

Its your fuel pump if you can't hear it. And its inside your tank. Not a hard fix if you have a book that tells you how to remove it. Alot of procedures to follow to get it right. And yes it does work off a relay.

How do you know it's getting Fuel? Sure sounds like it is not getting fuel since the car will Giggle when Starter Fluid is added.
Can you hear the Fuel pump run for a second when you turn the key to the RUN position?

Fuel filters diagram

I believe the filter is near the fuel tank probably on the fill side of the tank??? It is a metal canister type and be sure not too pull it until the vehicle sets overnight, open the fuel cap and pull the fuel pump fuse red 10 amp. if you are not sure . do not turn on the key when doing this job fuel sprays under pressure. Wrap a rag around the line to catch the pressurized fuel spray when you remove the line.

My barretta wont start

Is it possible that when you ran out of gas, you pulled through all the muck that was swashing around at the bottomof the tank? Seems likely to me that IS the case. Best to get the fuel system cleaned out completely.

Someone put a gallon of paint inside my engine... what can i do to fix this problem or i cant fix it? i need help or what is the step to do, thats the only car i have...

  • If you haven't put the key in the car and tried to start it, you might be able to get away with removing the Gas tank and having it professionaly cleaned out, or replaced. You will also need to replace the fuel pump and fuel level sender.
  • If you put the key in the car, the paint would have been pulled into your fuel line and possibly all the way into your fuel rail and injectors because the fuel pump pressurizes the fuel line when the key is turned to On. If this is the case, you will need to remove the fuel line, clean it out or replace it. Remove the fuel filter and replace it. Check the fuel rail for paint, if you find paint clean the fuel rail out or replace it. If you find paint in your fuel rail, you will need to have your fuel injectors professionally cleaned, but most likely replaced. If the paint actually made it past the injectors and into your Cylinders, you are going to need to rebuild the engine, or at least pull the heads and clean it up. If the paint made it this far, it is going to get real expensive unless you can do this work yourself. Even then it is going to take a good amount of time and effort.

2006 softail deuce fxstdi bike starts good stays on for a minute then turns off. sounds good when its on then chokes off

This issue could be a bad fuel line at the fuel pump. To check, open the gas cap and listen inside the tank while the ignition key is on to see if you can 1. hear the fuel pump running, 2. hear if the pump is spraying fuel inside the tank. You should hear the pump start up and then pump up to pressure and shut off. If it keeps running, the fuel line inside that tank is probably broken or disconnected. Also, be sure that the hose attatched to the tank,(on the outside, that goes to the injector body), is securly attatched to the tank.

Ran out of gas and wont start

Sounds like a typical case of letting the car run dry out of fuel, you may want to try spraying starter fluid into the intake/air filter after allowing the key to be left on in the run position for a few seconds, this allows the fuel pump to fill the fuel lines with fuel, then try spraying a shot of start fliud if still no start you may have a more serious problem....fuel contamination...the bottom of the fuel tank may have sediment in it and when you let it go dry it pulled up the bad stuff and now it needs to be flushed.
New fuel filter, injector service, fuel tank drained/flushed and fuel lines drained.

If this is a carb. bike just turn the fuel petcock to off pos. Fuel injected remove left side side cover and locate fuel pump fuse start bike pull fuse bike will stall and try to start again this will depressurize the system turn key off and do not turn on again. then at the tank connection slide the connector ring up and pull the fuel line down and when you put it back together make sure you hear it click or snap into place locking them together Good Luck

Fuel pump

Can you hear the pump when you turn the key on normally? When the pump on my old FJ starts up with the key, it makes enough racket to let you know. Your bike is alot smarter than mine, it might be able to tell that the lines are unhooked and preventing the pump from working as a safety thing. Is the fuel line made of or contain any metal? It may need to see continuity in the fuel system to allow the pump to operate. Or some other parameter is not being met with the lines disconnected. Have you tried thumbing the starter with the lines off? The bike might only pressurize the system when the engine is starting or running.... actually, this is my best guess now that I think of it.
