Well as far as ur air box goes it should be bolted to frame some where and them clamps just help the rubber stay tight around ur carb if they are lose it will just draw more air and cuz bike to run lean or rough lean is not bad thing as long as ur pipes at the head are not glowing red as far as lights check fuses and all ground wires

Ok it seems I'll have to replace the clamps cause they don't tighten at all but the air box isn't bolted to the frame at all and where is the main fuse box ?

SOURCE: 1994 yamaha fzr 600 spark plugs foul after about

Really...strange what you need to do is see if the bike is running too fat. So...warm her up witha fresh set of NGK! spark plugs. After the bike is warm take it down the street and back. When your on the way back get on the throttle and accelerate then shut er down and coast it into the garage. This will give an acuurate read on the spark plugs at operating temperature and under a load. Pull all the plugs. If they are brown like coffee with cream that means carbs are adjusted correctly. If they are black and wet too rich and if they are white or very light brown too lean. Other problems may be oil soaked plugs from loose top end parts. Maybe valves or guides.

SOURCE: Yamaha FZR 600 not charging correctly with the lights on

I HAD THE SAME ISSUE. CHECK YOUR VOLTAGE OFF O THE MAGNETO, IT SHOULD BE IN THE 25V RANGE. IF THAT CHECKS OUT OK CK THE VOLTAGE IMEDIATLY AFTER THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR, I BET IT IS BELOW 14V. THE FZR IS PRONE TO HAVING THE REGULATOR GO BAD (THE OLDER ONES HAVE NO COOLING FINS AND THEY BURN THEMSELVES UP). THE BEST ONE TO BUY IS THE NEWER VERSION FROM A 1999 FZR, IT HAS COOLING FINS WHICH GREATLY PROLONGS THE LIFE. YOU HAVE TO DO SOME SLIGHT WIRING MODS, BUT NOTHING ANYONE COULDN'T DO. SEARCH FOR FZR REGULATOR UPGRADE AND IT WILL EXPLAIN EVERYTHING! I HOPE THIS HELPS! GOOD LUCK!

Personally, I would go back to the stock jets, stock air cleaner and stock exhaust then get the carbs balanced and synchronized. Aftermarket stuff is usually flashy and sounds like a good thing.. Sometimes it is but sometimes it ain't. Sometimes one add-on interferes with another. Put some faith in the guys who designed the engine in the first place. Go back to stock equipment and settings and see if the problem disappears.

Keep the cool aftermarket product stickers on the bike. No one will ever know.

Please rate my solution a " FixYa " if all goes well. Thanks!

hey m8,, does the petrol pump work,, and fuel in the carbs,
make sure u have fuel gettin to the carbs,,pull off the fuel line on the carb, and a quick on and off of the ignition, see if fuel pours out the fuel line 1st,,if thats all cool,, then check u havent got a air leak ,in the air box,, check the jubilee clips on the carbs holdin the air box on are sealing and tight,, ,if thats cool, check and clean your plugs,, take a plug out and put in its cap again ,lay on top the motor and turn the engine over, check if its sparkin nice,, if all that is good ,, this happens a lot if been mest with,, but have u had the coil leads off b4,, if so u may have the wires on the wrong coils,, as u r sat on the bike, from left to right should be 1,3,4,2,,left coil 4 plugs 1 and 4,, right coil 4 2, and 3,,
