Hi, Anonymous before diagnosing your blown fuse issue check the bottom of your seat if it's metal and comes in close proximity to the positive battery post you need to take the necessary steps to ensure there is no contact (electrical tape, thick rubber insulation, hammer a dent in the seat bottom etc.) also you are going to need a wiring from your service manual a test light, an ohmmeter and plenty of extra fuses. If you turn on your ignition switch and immediately blow a fuse you have a hard/dead short and is usually easy to find. With a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder start stabbing the wire/s that leads away from the fuse holder and towards the ignition switch, you test light will illuminate validating the short. When the test light fails to illuminate you have passed the short and need to back up until the test light illuminates, then look in the immediate area for the short.
If you driving down the road for 30 minutes or 15 miles and blow a fuse you have soft/flying short and may take some time and patience to find.
If the main fuse/circuit breaker constantly blows/trips while riding you probably have a faulty battery terminal connection. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary. Any other fuses that constantly keep blowing while riding are usually caused by a loose or corroded ground wire in the circuit, which means you have to check, inspect, test each and everyone with and ohm meter set on a low ohm scale 100 ohms or less . Simply touch one lead to the ground source and the other lead to the battery negative terminal, a reading of zero indicates a clean solid ground. Any number reading or infinity indicates a poor ground and needs to be repaired. Poor or weak grounds require excessive additional amperage to complete the circuit which in turn blows the small amperage fuse. Right hand side indicator keeps fusing

does the right hand turn signal keep blowing the fuse. if so, remove one bulb (back) and see if it still happens. if not replace the bulb and remove the other bulb (front). if it still happens it sounds like something in the signal light wiring is shorted. best place to check for shorts and easiest is the connectors itself.

Why does my turn signal/ hazard light fuse keep blowing out

you have a short in one of the light sockets or a worn wire from the wiring harness. could be the flasher assembly. are the turn signals different bulbs from the brake lights? Does using the brakes blow the fuse? (Rear lights or brake light switch on brake pedal). left or right turn signal blowing the fuse will tell which side has the short. 4 ways only, replace the relay.

My left turn signal works fine, why when I turn the right signal on it blows the fuse.

Remove the right front and rear turn signal bulbs. If it still blows a fuse take it to your mechanic to find / fix the short circuit. If it does not blow the fuse, replace the bulbs. You may of course also replace the bulbs one at a time to narrow it further as to which one.

Right turn signal possible short

the wire is shorted.

trailer hitch hack job.

collision damage to rear.? wrecked the harness.

why would the flasher be bad, if left side front and rear works perfectly

we use a 15amp circuit breaker to replace the flasher fuse.

then find the short, (beaker keeps popping) when right turns are selected.

is this car under warranty?

did some one put in an illegal larger fuse in this circuit? dont

its a simple shorted line

we have a thing (real edison like) called an ammeter

we can measure the actual short, all look here its 15amps

just as the breaker trips, bingo city

then all we do is start pulling all inline connectors to find the section that is shorted, front or rear.

does that help?:

My rear right turn signal does not work. The indicator light on the dash for the right turn signal flashes quicker then usual. Looking at the fuse panel, I don't know which fuse works the rear right turn...

Usually when the signal is blinking fast it just means the bulb is broken, disconnected, or the wire may have a short or break in it. take care and good luck. Especially if the front one is working.

When using the right hand turn signal blows fuse

If there's one thing that gets my shorts in a bunch it's trying to track down a short circuit. I had a 79 Trans Am that did the exact same thing that you described. With out looking at it I would say that there is an exposed wire that causes short circuit. It may be in the turn signal switch, or even somewhere in the steering column.

The flasher unit will not cause an overload in the circuit.Activate the four way flasher and if the fuse does not trip then it appears there is a short in either the left or right signal circuit when the steering wheel is turned. The position of the steering wheel will determine which side is shorting out if this is the cause

your socket may not be grounded properly, I have seen this before, and the simplest way to fix is change the socket with a new one.Not another used one it may also be bad.
