Question about Suzuki Motorcycles

1 Answer

Smoking white I have a 05 gsxr 600. It recently started smoking during deceleration. I started it and gave it a few revs and noticed the smoke. Revved a few more times and put my hand over the exhaust. Had lil moisture with a lil bit dark spots so I thought might be oil but not sure. Once running a few mins the moisture stopped. Took it for a short ride and it still smoked during deceleration and when shifted. I'm new to this so any insight would be great. Thanks

SOURCE: My 04 rmz250 is overheating. It started smoking 3

Several things here. Do an oil change, 10w40 motor oil. Run premium gas and install a new NGK spark plug one heat range colder than stock. It sounds like you have an air leak causing a lean fuel mix. Check the carb mount bolts and the intake manifold bolts for tightness. Also set the valve clearances with a cold engine > .002 intake and .003 exhaust. Check for any cylinder head leaks. This would show up as oil on the cooling fins at the base of the cylinder head. Tighten the head bolts if needed.

SOURCE: white smoke blowing out the exhaust and oil consumtion on r.cyl.

Its most likely your rings. They get worn and start letting oil into the combustion chamber. They aren't extremely hard to replace.

SOURCE: coolant in oil, oil in coolant. blowing white smoke

Sounds more like a blown head gasket. Check the compression on the engine to be sure. Anything below 150 is bad, although the bike may run. Could also be a cracked head or block.

SOURCE: Smoke alot

You jetting is off on your carb. Raise the clip on the needle in the carb, if it still does it.....the it will need smaller jets.....see a motorcycle shop.Your bike is a two stroke and will smoke with oil coming out the exhaust if card is too rich. What raio do you mix your gas/oil at? Disregard the first post....he must think its a four stroke engine.

Smoking white

If you are in a cold climate it is probably just steam. Oil is blue smoke not white or steam.

What does white smoke coming from exhaust of a 01 'suzuki gsxr 1000 mean when starting only?

For motorcycles with 4-stroke engines: The white smoke from the exhaust means that the engine oil is leaking into the combustion chamber where the petrol burns. ... This eventually means that you have to get your piston changed along with the piston rings that prevent the engine oil leaking into the combustion chamber.

White smoke coming out of the exhaust when starting the engine?

Its the problem of oil.The oil is getting burned out. The vehicle is either burning oil or it is moisture in the gas chamber if you notice white smoke from the exhaust. This is a common possibility.but in some cases this white smoke is not due to oil burning. In that case   White smoke from the exhaust is a symptom of coolant entering the combustion chamber. Normally this is a sign of a blown head gasket or cracked head. And  this is not a common problem must be repaired immediately. You must STOP driving this vehicle or you will cause serious engine damage. you will have to get both this possibilities checked.
Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

2006 suzuki 1300 hayabusa cranks and runs great but smokes alot of white smoke

Crankcase oil is getting into the combustion process. Check the following: Crankcase oil level - make certain it is not overfilled. Crankcase ventilation system - check for blocked or kinked crankcase vent hoses.
If the smoking persists, try to take note of weather it is during acceleration, or deceleration. Smoke during acceleration normally indicates worn piston rings, while smoke during deceleration means worn valve guides and/or valve guide seals.
If the smoke smells like antifreeze, then you most likely have a leaking head gasket.

Gsxr 600 1999 rough idle white smoke underpowered knocking pinki

I,d probably do a compression check on this old girl. sounds like she needs some attention to the top end.The valve stem seals sound like there spent.Oil is seeping past the seals into the combustion chamber and being burnt off, thus explaining the rough idle and white smoke at start-up and dissipating as the engine warms up.Probably time to spend a bit of coin keerossi.Think of it as an exchange, money for thrills.hope i've helped you out a bit....tabby...OZ

My car smoke in the morning when I spark it. When I drive for a few miles it stops

possibly just condensation (steam) white-clear worse in colder enviroments
possible valve stem seals worn or gone hard
if its manual it may give small puff of (blue-grey) smoke out of exhaust in between gear changes at higher revs or on deceleration from hard rev while stationary it will also smell like burning oil
