SOURCE: klx 110 2006 stalls when choke is pushed in

i'd say the carb is gummed up especially the pilot jet (#16158) in this pic of the USA carb. may have to remove the carb & bowl and then remove the pilot jet (w/ flat head screw driver) and clean out the tiny holes.

-OR-

the carb slide is installed backwards (turned 180 degrees). its #16025 in the pic. i've done this before on my daughter's XR70 and Z50. you'll know if its this when you move the choke lever, RPMs increase and decrease.

hope this worked for you and was fast enough.

SOURCE: rebuilt carbs-starts and idles but wont rev up without choke on

sounds like the main jets are partly pluged, you must remve all brass jets and seats including needle jet and its slide soak in carb cleaner and blow out with compressed air only.. hold up to bright light to verify if all are clean. jim

SOURCE: Strange thigs about YAMAHA TW 125

Hi
I have been working on my carb today, the pipe from the bottom of the carb should just run down by the bottom of the swinging arm, there should be another pipe from the pipe on the left side of the carb just above the fuel intake which also runs down to the swinging arm and connect to nothing.
Cheers

Wondering if anyone can help I have a gilera 125cc and it starts and ticks over fine but once the choke comes of it starts to cut out when it's ticking over but drives fine above 3000rpm

still think you have a plugged carb passage somewhere maybe an idle air passage, you used carb cleaner and compressed air to blow this carb's jets out?

Engine only runs with choke on

turn off fule first take the bowl off bottom of card by removeing the 10 mm stud .use an air line to blow out carb where the stud came out of.now turn on fule and make sure it runs trough the float needle if it does turn off again .replace bowl turn on fuel and start up.

I have a electric generator with a 5 horse briggs engine it was hard to start and ran with full choke. I ordered a rebuilt kit # 495606 and installed. The only way the engine will run , is to pour gas...

it has a blocked fule line and maybe blocked jets in the carb first clean all the fule lines from the tank down check the filter in the tank as well they do get rust in them, if fule is reaching the carb strip carb and clean all jets,, dont go poking wire into the jets it could distroy them check that the flote is free and lifting then clean the air filter and try starting it up,,,it should run ok then

I have a 2005 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 that starts with the choke out but will never warm up. If you turn the choke off it stalls, if you give it gas with the choke on it stalls, If you try to start it...

this sounds more like a fule problem to me, try striping the carbs out and clean all the jets out, also check the fule it reaching the carbs and its not a blocked fule tank or filter as this bike is just not getting any fule to the engine after cleaning the carbs it should run ok, but just to be on the safe side get some cleaner and tip it into the fule tank also

Super jog 90 idles but dies when turning eccelerator

i sounds like when you sit on your bike your traping a fule line and stoping it getting fule as for it not reving up thats also short of fule it could be a blocked pipe or a blocked jet in the carb as you say it starts ok if you hold your hand over the carb this is the choke not working but as soon as its warmed up it dont need a choke, so its back to the carb jets blocked or fule shortage, also look at the air filter is it clean also cheak the exhaust pipe,,,if its slightly blocked it wont go very well, if at all,,,

Can get it to start, but runs about three seconds and stops. the choke is pushed in. But seems to want to run longer with the choke out. 4 seconds...

its the old problem,,,,,,,short of fule, or no fule getting to the carb,,,,, clean out the tank filters and then clean out the carb and all the jets in it as well put in fresh fule and then it will run all day and with out the choke being on,,, thats a lot longer than 4 seconds!

Does not run at full speed unless choke is at 1/4 setting. I checked the air screen and it is clear. I replaced the gas with new fuel 50:1 mix.

its a blocked carb or filter
clean out all the fule pipes and filters
"""even the one in the fule tank on the end of the pick up pipe""" and retune carb when starting up again
ps,, iv never liked running on a 50:1 mix?
i do 40:1 if it smokes a little ,,,,,its got oil in it!

It wont start.

If it was stored with ethanol fuel on board your hoses may have holes or cracks as well. Inspect them carefully. It sounds as if there is a fuel delivery problem. Check the fuel filter on the free end of a hose in fuel tank (manufacturer recommends an annual replacement). Check all fuel delivery lines especially at fittings and bends for cracks and holes. If those are good then the likely cause is internal parts of the carburetor are dirty or have failed. HTH

Fuel

it sounds like your carbs are gummed up you can try running it with some High octane fule and spraying some carb cleaner into the intakes and see if that clears it up, or take off the carbs and clean them with the carb cleaner, you also may check to see if your running to lean (not enough fuel) as when the choke is on you are restricting air flow to give more fuel and less air i am willing to bet if you run the carb cleaner through it you may be allright, you may want to change the oil and filter for safety sakes as well
