Ford fusion problems

Hi Lawrence, I'm glad to help!
This is a shot in the dark Lawrence, but I'm going to give it shot anyway. It sounds like to me that sense you are having to jump-start the vehicle, that the Alternator is not charging the system enough to keep the engine running. Put a battery charger on the battery and charge it up. Then take the charger off the battery on connect a Volt Meter and see if you have a full 12 volts or more, if you do then while the meter is still attached start the engine and see if the meter is reading 13 volts or above IF IT ISN'T then you may need an alternator or power to the alternator is bad. If the alternator is not charging properly then you'll watch the voltage continue to drop until the car dies. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Lawrence.

The rear wheels only literally lock up and the lights on my dash are in orange on the right it says Trac Off. On the right of my dash it says - Anti Lock. This has happened to me 3 times - - my vin #...

Well Carol, to be quite honest, your problem is not easy to DIY and it probably won't be super cheap to fix. The "Trac OFF" light indicates that the Traction Control is not on or not functioning properly. This usually means that the TCM or Traction Control Module is bad. The "Anti Lock" light indicates that you most likely have one or more wheel sensors that are bad, or the ABS (Antilock Breaking System) has a bad module. You may also want to check out some forums on the buick century. It seems as thought the problems you are experiencing, are quite common in the Buick Century. Here are a few links that may help you narrow it down and possibly find a manufacturers recall on the problem. Hope this helps.

NEWS: Feds Step Up Probe of Chevy Aveo Stuck Throttle

Ice formation in engine can cause problems -- February 19, 2008 -- Federal safety regulators are stepping up an investigation of the vehicle speed control system in 2004 and 2005 Chevrolet Aveos.

The Office of Defect Investigations (ODI) which is part of the National Highway traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has upgraded its evaluation of complaints which began October 19, 2007 about stuck throttles in the Aveo because of "ice formation within the engine air intact tract."

The change, according to ODI, follows a safety recall by General Motors "involving substantially similar vehicles manufactured for sale in Canada."

GM, according to the federal safety group twice revised the Canadian recall "to include more substantial changes to the throttle body, intake manifold, positive crankcase ventilation and engine cooling systems to further reduce air intake tract."

After receiving 28 complaints of a stuck throttle in vehicles in the U.S. along with 46 warranty claims affecting 63 vehicles," investigators suspect the defect occurs in the winter when the temperature is below freezing.

Information provided to ODI by GM does not include events involving stuck throttles during the "most recent winter months" so the investigation will be intensified to "further study the frequency of the alleged defect," according to ODI.

An engineering analysis is often the last step before a NHTSA-mandated recall.

Unable to turn key in ignition to start 2003 Honda Pilot .

Your ignition lock cylinder probably fell apart. They get worn out and the tumblers inside fall out and leave the cylinder inoperable. Get your lock cylinder replaced and you'll be good as new.
