You probably have an exhaust leak somewhere. Not a huge problem, just annoying

1991 jeep wrangler new motor cutting out and backfireing and acts like it doesnt want to run? what could be wrong ? Fuel is getting to the motor! when it backfires there is a small cloud of black coming...

if it's been running less than a half an hour, it's possible that the lifters haven't filled up to pressure yet; it has to idle a while to stabilize. if it's not that, then look at your ignition timing and your firing order.

1993 bmw 318i backfires and shuts off

Several problems can lead to backfire including fuel air mixture ratio, but I suspect that you may have a blocked catalytic converter and to check this you would use a sawzall or hack saw to cut a hole in your exhaust pipe an inch or so before the catalytic converter and see if the car will run properly (although it will be very loud while testing). To reseal the pipe (assuming you don't have to remove the catalytic converter and something else is causing the issue) you would get a short pipe extension at any parts store that is pre-shaped on the ends to slip over your pipes and clamp it on each end with a muffler clamp, or pay someone about $20 to reweld the pipe.

2007 yamaha yz450f... while riding last week it was backfiring on deceleration. it blew a 5 inch hole in the header pipe. i purchased a new one, cleaned the air filter, changed the oil and put a new spark...

Exhaust leaks near the exhaust port can draw air into pipe on deceleration and detonate any unburnt fuel leaving engine, causing backfire and high temps.
An overly lean fuel mixture on the engine can make decel backfire worse too.

I have a 2000 Honda VT1100 Sabre Shadow. It's got aftermarket Vance and Hines pipes. It continues to have a backfire when moving up through the gears. I've had the jets (and K&N filter and plugs)...

When you installed the Vance and Hines pipes did you use new gaskets? Popping and backfiring is often caused by leaking copper o-rings in the head to head pipe connection , or head pipe to muffler gasket. Sealing the system will prevent oxygen igniting the unburned fuel in the exhaust pipe. Hopefully , this is all you need to stop the popping.

I have a Ski doo 583 RAVE motor theat backfires

It sounds like you have a reed problem they should be in a "cage" just behind the carbs on the cylinder and if they were missing a piece or if they were cracked it would cause the engine to backfire. If they are in good condition they should close against the cage and stop the back pressure coming through the carbs.
