SOURCE: how do i remove the front wheel of my honda 2000

The front brake is a drum brake system. If you have removed the axle the drum should pull out of the hub and just hang from the brake cable.

SOURCE: I have a Honda CB600, the front fork is stuck inside the slider?

Your bike probably has a recessed bolt at the bottom of the fork that holds the inner stem. Remove it and the stem should come free. Go to www.babbittsonline.com/partspviewby brand/parts.aspx to see an exploded parts diagram of your bike.

2001 honda xr200 6th gear

Most likely cause of not selecting a single gear is a bent shift fork.
Shift forks in motorcycles are what pushes the gears in and out on the shaft to engage them. Rough shifting or missing gears can sometimes cause them to bend.
Replacing them, however, requires removing and completely re-building the engine as the shift forks are right inside.
Alternatively it could be a damaged shift drum, but again it's a case of remove engine, split motor in half and have a look.
For a look at the gearbox itself, go to http://www.boltonmotorcycles.com/find/unit/8488
and select 'Transmission' and 'Shift Drum/Fork'

What is the firing order on a 1983 Honda Nighthawk 650?

Instructions
    • 1 Remove the front tire with the crescent wrench and set aside. Remove the nut and axle bolt from the tier and use the hammer to remove the axle bolt from the forks.
    • 2 Remove the securing bolt at the top of the fork on the handle bars. Slide the forks out of the fittings.
    • 3 Place the forks into the oil pan, bottom down, and remove the oil nut. Let the forks drain for ten minutes into the oil pan.
    • 4 Tighten the oil nuts and remove the seal from the fork fitting with a screwdriver. Slide the seal off the fork.
    • 5 Apply oil around the inside of the seal. Slide the seal onto the fork and press into the fitting tightly.
    • 6 Replace the oil in the fork following the manufacturer's recommendation.
    • 7 Replace the forks and the tire following the steps above in reverse order.

I need to change the fork seals on my 900 fireblade. do i need to split the forks.

HI WEATHER YOU NEED TO SPLIT THE FORKS OR NOT, YOU SHOULD, SOME OF THE OLDER HONDAS REMOVING THE LOWER FORK BOLT, ACCESABLE WHEN THE SPIINDLE HAS BEEN REMOVED, THIS WILL DRAIN THE OIL OUT OF THE FORK LEG THERE WILL BE A WASHER OR SEALING RING ON THIS SO BE CAREFUL NOT TO LOOSE IT WHEN YOU REMOVE THE BOLT, USING A BOWL OR CONTAINER TO CATCH THE OIL, UNDO THE BOLT IN THE LOWER FORK LEG, AFTER ALL THE OIL HAS BEEN REMOVED, PULL DOWN ON THE FORK TUBE IF THIS PULLS OUT OF THE LEG THEN YOU CAN COMPLETE THE JOB QUITE EASY, REMOVE DUST SEAL, CIRCLIP AND OIL SEAL, THE LATER WILL BE QUITE TIGHT IN THE LEG, WHEN YOU EASEMBLE THE FORK YOU WILL HAVE TO UNDO THE TOP FORK NUT TO REPLENISH TTHE OIL

Need to change out fork seals...any advice on how to approach this or tricks to look out for?

Your triple clamps are the best vice for your fork tubes. Put your bike on the center stand and lift the front wheel off the ground with a jack. Take off your front wheel and loosen the socket caps in the bottom of the tubes. ( you may want to remove the front fender to work on tubes individually) On some models you have to put a towel on the tank, unbolt the handle bars, and move the bars enough to get them out of the way. Unbolt air crossover tube if equipped. Loosen fork top caps and remove. Place a pan under the forks and remove the socket screws. This will dump the oil and allow you to remove the fork lowers. You may need a seal pry bar to remove seals. Installation is reverse order . Add oil after snugging up socket screws ( tighten after top caps are on). Do not to over fill fork tubes with oil it will damage the fork sliders while you ride. The dealer can tell you the correct amount for your model. Honda dealers have pocket size specification books they get quick check the information.

How to replace fork seals on 1984 vt750 honda shadow

Most forks have a bolt underneath, usualy a hex key type, sometimes the nut inside the fork turns, and you then need very long socket extension to hold it tight.
Once this bolt is undone, the forks should come apart.

Sometimes, you can prise out the old seals, and slide the new ones on, without taking things apart.

How do I remove my my Honda RS125GP forks seals

Do not use a screw driver. There is a tool with a curved tip to go underneth the seal and pull up or buy a seal remover on the internet.
The curved looks like a spring puller - it might work
