Question about Motorcycles
My 87 sportster has new front disc and does not have cut out for speedo. can I drill a hole or cut a slot without damage or anything?
Basically, the only difference is a notch in the center hole for the speedo drive.
If you know what size to cut it to, deburr everything when done, and are VERY careful, you probably could get away with it.

Gap your plugs to 38 thou. Check all your bulbs (one burned out will affect the rest) Take a look at all your fuses and make sure they are all ok. Otherwise you are probably looking at a wiring short which will require trouble shooting of the elctrical system. Buy your self a service manual for your bike, this will help you a lot.

The is should be a speed drive unit on the axle that has a tab that sticks into a slot on the wheel. The lower end of the speedo cable screws into this unit.
