hi! dude this is viraj ,,, i also have a 97 taurus,,, there are 2 reasons that your bike will not satrt at the very first kick (1) is that check your clutch settings if the settings are loose than your kick will give a slip resulting in a low pressure kick which is not enough for startin the engine,,,(2) if your bikes cold and you keep kicking it you will have to pump a lot of energy in it your engine will fire only after 15 to 20 kicks .... there is a sollution to this ...PULL THE DECOMPRESS LEVER WHICH IS BELLOW THE TANK ON THE HEAD AT LEFT SIDE ( NOT THE CHOKE LEVER) AND PUMP YOUR BIKE ATLEAST FIVE TO SIX POWERFULLY WITHOUT LEAVING THE LEAVER..... AND NOW START THE BIKE AS YOU DO,,,
Have a look here http://royal-enfield.com/ I don't know your location so this is the main web address, from it you will be directed to an authorised dealer. Hope this helps.
