SOURCE: Lack of power and low revs

Remove and clean the carbs. Remove and clean the fuel petcock water trap then put everything back together. Try the bike now.
If still bad then take it to the shop and ask for a compression check. You may have some burned valves.

SOURCE: no power at full throttle, have done carb, power

How do you know this is not a mechanical problem with the engine, the car is pretty simple, I assume you have verified the carb slider valve is free moving?

SOURCE: dt 230 low on gets half revs then runs

Hi there, you likely still have the restrictor in the exhaust header. Mine was the same, they are shipped like that as standard. Take the exhaust off the engine and remove the the concentric tube that's in there (you need to cut it out). Instant +100% power, if that is your problem.

Sounds like a problem with the transmission. Your problem could be caused by a number of things related to the tranny but I would try change the Trans fluid and filters first. Costs around 100 at your local transmission repair shop.

There are many reasons for a lack of power. If there's a lack of power only when the engine is warm, I'd lead toward the catalytic converter which would impact power if clogged. It gives a sulphur-like smell in the exhaust as well as it would get extremely hot. If this is not the case, the fuel injectors or fuel filter could be clogged. Dirty spark plugs could lead to a lack of power as well. Another cause would be transmission problems. If you notice high RPMS and little power, the transmission could be slipping due to low fluid (if automatic). If it's a manual transmission, there might be a clutch issue which also would allow the car to rev really high with little acceleration. Lastly, check under the hood for any possible vacuum leaks. Sorry for the long answer but based on your question, until you can rule a few things out, there remains a lot of possibilities.
