Hi, I have 2014 VW Toureg V10 TDI, I took the vehicle to the car wash and they accidentally power hosed the engine and now none of the dash lights come on and vehicle is dead

check the battery for power/voltage , the doofus who power washed the engine compartment will have soaked the under hood fuse/relay box , usually located near the battery , open up and check the fuses and relays , remove and dry also there is a 60-100 amp fuse that supplies the vehicle electrics via alternator/battery , sorry other way round , check that fuse is ok and not blown or soaked in water , you can get electrical drying spray , WD 40 is a good choice , spray all the connectors fuse relay seats , check for any loose wires around the battery, alternator and starter as may have been blown off by the power washer , it should be the car wash company doing this as is there mistake , keep me posted if any of this helped in any way

Why doesnt my pontiac g6 turn on it makes no nois eor anything and i checked the battery alternator and starter but not the ignition switch

Not enough information.
Is the car completely dead electrically, or does it do things like:
-interior lights operate when door is open
-dash lights operate when key is turned to 'run'
-starter turns when key is turned to 'start'
If you have no electrical power to anything, I would definitely start checking under the hood first. A voltmeter is the tool that will help you the most here.
-Battery terminals tight, battery not dead, cables (both power and ground) carry current where it belongs (zero ohms). Tight electrical connections everywhere.
- The underhood fuse panel contains nearly all the fuses, fusible links, and relays needed for your engine to run. Checking with a voltmeter is quicker than pulling and visually inspecting components.

Why when i hit my starter switch on my 1980 harley nothing?

Battery dead, main fuse blown or missing, system/ignition fuse blown, bad ignition switch or not turned on, security system on board and activated, run stop switch "OFF" or switch defective, start relay defective, if hear the start relay click but no solenoid click a defective solenoid, and/or defective wiring between any or all. Good place for a battery condition , cable and terminal etc check and then if good a voltage drop testing procedure to locate source point to problem.

06 plate citroen c2 wont start

If you check your engine fuse box and find that your 20amp fuse is blown its either a sticking starter relay or water getting in your electrics. Try checking this first as the fuse box is directly above wheel arch and can get damp. Clean up green contacts and keep a spare 20amp fuse handy. After changing this blown fuse you will need to reset the engine management system by disengaging the battery terminal. You're clocks might be out but car will now start. Don't forget to buy that starter relay if problem persists.

Nissan Altama Starter Relay electrical problems or a fuse?

Double check the battery positive connection wiring carefully as it commonly has connection problems when the battery is changed.

No power installed new battery into a 2006 kawasaki ninja zx-6r636

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, by your post of "...no power...", I am assuming that there is no electrical power when the ignition switch is turned on.

Almost always, 2 possibilities for a completely dead electrically:
  • loose / corroded battery terminals, connectors - clean, tighten;
  • blown 30A main fuse - replace. It would be located in the starter relay. To locate the starter relay, follow the cable from the battery's + terminal.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Blown the starter solenoid fuse, all other electrics look OK. Replaced fuse no life, is the starter dead or any other common problem?. It just stopped on the road. thanks

Check the electrical system from the battery ground (at the engine) to the battery.
chech the wires from the battery thru the solenoid to the starter. See if the starter will operate when it is "shorted" (touch a (large) wire from the battery + terminal to the starter post) be careful not to touch anything else. If it works this way you need a solenoid. If not, have the starter checked out.
There usually is some reason for a blown fuse.
