My 2005 Honda VTX 1300 R runs great but when I excelerate, I hear a ticking/clicking noise? What could this be from? Could it be my valves? Could the valves be self-adjusting or do they have to be manually adjusted? Is there a DIY manual that I can download for free to solve this problem? Is this a common problem for this type of motorcycle or is it unique to my bike? Thanks,

I have a 2010 Honda VTX 1300ct. It has just over 600 miles and the shop wants me to tighten the valves. Others have said there is no need to do this until 8000 miles. What shojmd I do. Note, there is no...

Take it back to the shop, if it needs this doing yet it was not set up correctly when it was manufactured. If this is required it would be part of the first service, if you do it and something goes wrong you will invalidate your warranty. Be very careful of Honda UK, and anything that could invalidate you warranty. (Note Portsmouth Honda).

Backfiring through rear cyclinder. Cleaned carb, replaced exhaust gaskets, valves did not need adjusting after 45000 miles. Bike runs great just backfires sometimes

Check the wiring to the spark plugs and replace if necessary. If that does not solve then go one step further backwards towards cdi etc...

Backfiring through rear cylinder, 45000 on bike but runs great, no loss of power, just backfiring

Check to see if you have an exhaust leak at the rear cylinder. A slightly leaking exhaust gasket can cause this.
