Your floats arnt working what they do is stop the gas so it wont flood the engin or over flow. what causes it is old gummy gas or just rust take the bole off and make shure they are moving free and when you put it back to gether make shure the gasket stays inplace and dosnt slide that will stop it also

HOW DO YOU FIX A HARD STARTING YAMAHA 426

Clean the carb. Bear in mind that a new carb costs $1300 or so. Don't drop it. Install fresh spark plug, NGK R CR8E. Get a new air filter. Be sure the battery is in good condition. Don't twist the throttle more than once when cold. Not at all when it is warm. A power valve in the carb squirts gas into the cylinder with every twist. Flooding with gas is quick and easy on this bike.

Hi, Cgallops108 and the usual suspects are:
1. Dirt or other foreign matter between float valve and its seat.
2. Float valve sticking.
3. Float valve and/or valve seat worn or damaged.
4. Float misadjusted.
5. Float cracked, leaky or damaged.
6. Excessive "PUMPING" of hand throttle grip.
