Buy 'Seafoam', put it in your fuel tank - about half the 16oz bottle, and keep turning over the bike. It will eventually clear out what is blocking your fuel and the bike will run. You will need to put the next half in the next tank of fuel. This stuff is amazing and can be found for sale on E-bay. No matter the cost, just get it. I tried everything else with my fuel issue and this is the only stuff that worked. All other fuel or carby cleaners just didn't cut it.

How easy to repair valve seals

Valve stem seals replacement...

Remove cylinder head, remove valve springs with a spring compresser.
Seal is just a rubber boot that you lubricate and slide over the end of the valve guide.Replace valve springs, refit head with new gasket.
Refit camshaft and re-time...
How easy this is depends on previous mechanical experience and availability of tools
If you are confident enough with refitting and timing the camshaft and have access to a torque wrench and valve spring compresser then this is a pretty simple job.

Try soaking the intake rubbers in hot water, then refit and try again,if the rubbers are too hard soak them in thinners for a few hours or untill their plyability is back to normal and you will have no problem fitting your carbs.

CBX550 carburettor vacuum system

Hi Simon,
Fuel over flowing from the carburators/over flow pipe means the float pins are not sealing off.
You will have to remove the carbs and the float bowls to check the pins and will have to adjust the floats too .
The vaccum fuel tap runs or rather allows fuel to pass by once the engine is running (thus creating vaccum) if you check around the inlate or the carburator mountings, in one of it you will find where to plug in tht pipe.
Hope this helps!
