Question about 1997 Honda CBR 600 F(3)V

Engine won't stay running

4 cylinder motorbike engine won't stay running. It is a multi point fuel injected engine, instead of the original carb. The sparks are all working. It will start running sometimes and only keep going with near full throttle which will hold engine at less than tick over until it eventually stops.

What do you do if you cant get your 1992 ford f250 to start?

Start with the basics. To run, the engine needs fuel, air, ignition spark, and compression. So one should verify the fuel pump is working and fuel is getting to the engine. When you first turn the key to on, the pump should come on for a brief second or two to prime the lines with fuel. If you don't hear it come on, spray inside the intake with starting fluid or carb cleaner and see if engine tries to start. Does it at least fire and try to run? If so, the pump needs testing to see if it is bad or wiring to the pump is the problem. If the pump is working, the next thing is to check for spark on a spark plug wire when the engine is cranking. You can buy an inexpensive spark tester at a parts store, or just pull a spark plug wire off the plug and hold the metal wire terminal end 1/4 inch from a metal piece on the engine. Use a glove or heavy rag to hold the wire and have someone crank the engine over. To verify ignition is good, you need to see a strong blue spark consistently when the engine is cranked over. If no spark, the ignition system is the problem, and further testing of the system is required. Best done by a well-equipped shop. If pump is working and you have spark, but still won't start, either check fuel pressure with a pressure gauge (correct fuel pressure is very important!), or check that injector circuit is working and injectors are spraying fuel into the intake or into the cylinders, depending if you have multi-port injection, or throttle body injection (or central point fuel injection, I think Ford calls it).
Plenty of other things to check, but sudden no-start problems are usually because of fuel or ignition failure. If you haven't changed the gas filter or air filter in some time, that is a good place to start.

I have a Toro 4 cycle gas trimmer that won't stay running. Starts, then sputters, then dies. I've changed the oil, drained fuel & put in new fuel.

check to make sure the air filter and the fuel screen are clean, the screen is the little white plastic piece on the end of the hose in the tank. if it is still sputtering try cleaning the bell out on the carb. it is the little metal cylinder on the bottom of the carb where it holds the fuel until it evaporates into the engine if it gets clogged the engine will not run properly.

Does the 1991 saturn have individual fuel injectors

if you look along the intake manifold where its mounted to the engine there should be 4 individual sensor looking components(one for each cylinder) with a 2 wire connector fastened to them, then you have multi-point injection(one injector for each cylinder).if not then you have what is called throttle body injection which is one body with 1or2 injectors that supply fuel to all the cylinders.this looks similar to a small carburetor located in the center area of the intake manifold were all the intake runners come together.

1991 buick park ave. missing at highway speed, tach revs up to 3000 rpm instead of usual 2200 sometimes dies at take off and then runs like normal for a while

It seems that correct amount of fuel is not being supplied to the engine. Most probably the fuel nozzles have accumulated some dirt. Try spraying some carb cleaner into the air intake assembly when the engine is idling. This ought to mix with the air-fuel mixture being injected into the cylinders and if the nozzles are narrowed, should clean them up.

Still starving for fuel after replacement of fuel line and filter.Getting gas to carb but will not stay running?

1990. this should be throttle body injection, you didnt post engine size. Need to check fuel pressure at idle and under load, While driving under hard acceleration. On a carb fuel pressure should be between 4-6.5 psi at all times. TBI should be 9-13 psi. Also on the carbs there is a filter on the carb at the fuel inlet. Need a 1" wrench to remove the line and remove the internal filter.

4 cylinder motorbike engine won't stay running. Fuel is injected in. The sparks are all working. It will start running sometimes and only keep going with near full throttle which will hold engine at less...

If its cable throtle then clean throtle hosing on the inlet manifold. If that does not work clean the injectors.By adding fuel treatment for injection systems.Or remove and get them checked out.

Too much fuel pumped into the carb. What to do?...adjust?...set?

The idle air control valve may be at fault, also the throttle position sensor may be telling the engine th wrong information and sending too much fuel, a couple other ideas come to mind but I not an expert. A faulty injector is one of them.....I another idea that may help as well: Vacuum Leak: The ECM will try to compensate for leaks up to a certain size. This will cause the ECM to compensate and possible send too much fuel to the engine...???? Good Luck
