Check drl unit if not found integrated in fusebox check connections at battery and all fuses if ok if no test light is available take each fuse out 1 at a time and check if not burnt then you have relays for headlights and parking try the 4 way hazards to see if the parking lights function then if all is good play with the multifunction switch to see if not burnt

SOURCE: 98 Jeep Cherokee Fog lights

It's definitely the switch...I bought two of 'em so far...known bug. I don't use the fog lights as much anymore , but the "Airtex" oem equivalent switch from Rockauto seems to be holding up well. If you dissamble your broke switch you'll probably see evidence that it is beginning to melt and theres alot, maybe too much, grease, which may or may not have been the cause of the bad, heating contacts inside switch.
If I remember right, even though the foglights have a relay there is still full amperage going through the switch or something....don't qoute me on that last statement.

SOURCE: 2001 subaru outback headlight not working

chapmnfarm: your head lights use a "2" fuse system.
one for the left and one for the right.
The fuse box you are looking for is under the hood on the passenger's side. It is a black box roughly 8 inches long and 4-5 inches wide. When you remove the cover, you will see fuses and relays. What you are looking for is the section in the box which has a cluster of 7 fuses. 3 in one row and 4 in the other. On the outer parameter are two relays. The fuses you are interested in are located in the row of 4 fuses, with the two closest to the "L" shaped part of the box. Both of those should be 15 amp fuses.
The fuse below those should be a 20 amp which is the lighting switch and the one below it is a 15 amp which is for the interior lights and the clock.
Check your harness grounds in the engine compartment near the area you have the problem. There are ground wires which come out of the harness on both sides of the core support. The wires are black in color and have "EYES" crimped onto the ends of the wires. Both of them will probably be located about 4-6 inches below the upper tie bar on each side of the radiator. Odds are that the eyes will be large enough to pass a 6mm bolt through.
I hope what I have given you will resolve your problem. Lem me know,,good luck>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I retract my entire solution, having not read correctly your situation. You may simply have lost a body ground wire.????

SOURCE: Jeep Headlights not working. High beam works

had the same problem on my 92....check under the hood on the drivers side, towards the front, there is a "junction box" with all of the lighting wires connecting from the switches to the lights. My wires were all corroded inside,so I cleaned the ends and bought a new box from the local electronic supply store. The problem has not come back.

The headlights will not go on

What you have is a ground problem. Check the body ground off the battery. There might be a small wire coming off the negative battery terminal, that is also a body ground.

Headlight wont turn offcole family racing

Only 2 things can cause this either the headlight switch or the headlight relay, chances are it's the switch,if you have a multimeter pull the relay out and probe the leads with the headlights in the off position you should only have power on 1 wire, with them on 2 wires are hot if this is the case then the relay is stuck,it's in the fuse box under the hood, another thing can cause this if the fog lights have been rewired to stay on even with highbeams on,power will feed back to the headlight circuit.
