Fuel gauge not working properly

Hi, Anonymous you could have a faulty sending unit or gauge, there could be a problem with your wiring. On models with the fuel gauge posing as a left-hand fuel cap the gauge is a press fit do not try to unscrew it, simply ample force lift up in a rocking motion to remove gauge. Disconnect wires to the gauge and with a set of positive and negative jumpers from the battery connect the positive jumper and flash the negative, gauge should peg full, if not replace the gauge. With a test light check for power to the sending unit, then remove the sending unit and manually operate the float arm slowly with the correct wiring hooked up to the fuel gauge and sending unit and the ignition on, the gauge should respond accordingly if not replace the float arm assembly. If your fuel gauge registers the incorrect amount of fuel in the tank you can try bending the float arm the necessary amount for a more accurate reading. Where is the reserve switch for a 2001 cbr 929?

Most bikes with a fuel gauge don't have one, they have a warning light. Easiest way to tell is to take a can of fuel with you and run it dry.. shake the bike and see if there is any in the tank.. if there's a good amount in there then you have a reserve. If there is not much in there fill it up with the can and go on your way.

My cbr 600f idles just fine but it sometimes shudders on take off or when moving slowly in gear 1. It has castrol 20W 50 synthetic oil in it. It operates in hot dry conditions. What are the possible...

sound like carburetion..purchase a can of Sea Foam $10 @ Autozone pour in 1/3 can two 2 gallons fuel and if you have the time change your fuel filter or take it off empty it and fill it with some Sea Foam get on the bike right away and drive it around town 10 to 15 miles and get on it once in awhile.
I've had this similar kind of problem a couple times on my 600f1 and it would idle fairly good but as soon as you gave it some gas it would hesitate then all of the sudden it would like spring back to life and then be fine. you either got a bad batch of gas, worn/fouled plugs or you got varnished up carbs. if this doesnt fix it then the pilot screws might need a new air/fuel mix for the conditions you ride in.
