Question about Yamaha YZ 450 F Motorcycles

I have a 2008 yamaha YFZ 450 quad,is there any way of easing the spring tension on the thumb throttle? maybee a different sping in the carby or something?

You don't have to buy a new spring, just relocate the stock one. There's another little arm in which you can cut a small groove to hook the spring. It isn't so tight this way. I did that and the 450r throttle and there's a HUGE difference! Also - heat fatigue the spring with a mini-torch will also make it softer. If you dont want to modify - you can go with a lighter spring. Check with your local dealer and im positive he can help you find a compatible one. THanks for using FixYa!!

Run my yamaha yfz 450 2007 with no water as it leaked and i didint realise now the quad wont start and i have no compression any ideas?

A bunch of things could be the problem >> valves scalded and stuck partly open, Rings seized to the piston, scored cylinder walls blown cylinder head gasket and warped cylinder head.

How do i get my idle down on yamaha yfz 450 quad

Turn the idle screw anticlockwise half to one turn to set if this does not affect idle speed then you need to look further inside carbi or intake valves for other issues

Yfz 450 cuts out

sounds like fuel starvation,check fuel tap filter, if the valve tining or ignition timing was out it just wront run

How do i change the oil on a 2008 yamaha yfz 450

Remove sump plug on slightly warmed motor (Not Hot!) keep bike straight up once emptied replace sump plug and refill 1 litre of oil
would highly recommend you change the oil filter as well though ?

04 yfz 450 wont start with electrical start

i have a 04 yfz 450 quad. the compression ratio like yours is extremely high. ive had my battery go bad and found that another battery other than factory would turn over the engine, but would not start. i paid the 100 dollars for the factory battery and it fired right up. because of the high compression you need a high cranking battery.
