Question about 1979 Yamaha XS 650 F

I have a 1970 Yamaha XS650 that pops out of 1st gear.

Bike has 17000 mi . Any chance of fixing without splitting cases? Thanks

No,You will need to split it to repair.

Don't know if my question got through last time so

Couldnt tell you without a play under the bonnet ,this is a common rail injection system thats all electronicly controlled so i have no chance ,now if you ask me about a ford D series or a two stroke diesel commer ,even a gardner london bus engine i can help but this fancy encrypted software as used by this age merc? no chance sorry its a merc or a bosch agent only .

I have vacuum in my oil fill tube on a 1997 ford f350 460 ci it only has 17000 mi on it

It should have. the PCV valve ( positive crankcase ventilation valve) pulls air threw the crankcase, so if it is runing there will be a vacuum if you pull the dipstck out.

Yes that is a good but, this model is still going for $5000 in good condition with that sort of milage.

I have a 2000 kdx 220r the piston skirt broke cylinder is ok but skirt pieces in case do i have to split case or can i dig them out

Sorry, chances are you will never be able to fully flush the particles out without splitting the cases. Might as well change bearings at the same time, etc., etc....

How do i change the crank seals on my 1982 suzuki RM125 can it be done without spliting the case thanks Scott

Take a look at a new set of seals, if they do not have a raised lip around the outer sealing surface, you should be able to gently pry out the old seals and press in the new ones. If they do have the raised O-ring style lip around the outside edge, you will have to split the cases to put the seals in. Some people replace raised lip seals with flat outside edge seals, they may not seal as well, and they have a greater chance of popping out, but they are easy to install. The real problem here is prying out the old raised lip seals with out damaging the case. If you have to split the case to get them out you may as well put in the good seals. At any rate, if the seals have flat outside edges you do not have to split the cases.

Pulled the pin bolt instead of drain plug

Sorry. I'm very certain you can't fix your problem without splitting the case. I would be cautious about running the motor at all. When you removed that bolt those pieces are free to fall down to the bottom of the case to interfere and do damage. Good Luck.

The bike jumps out of second back into neutral,

Since your engine has a horizontal split in the crankcase, the top end does not need to be torn down. Yes, a bent shift fork is likely to be the problem. Before going too far, first check the index wheel and spring on the end of the shift drum. The mechanism may be loose and/or the spring broken. If you are lucky, you may not need to split the case.

The Kawasaki is very easy to work on but you will need either a press or a special set of case splitting tools to split the cases. The right side engine case comes off easy but the left side is difficult. I can walk you through the entire process but I need to know just how far you are able to tear the engine down before I start walking you through the job.
One thing, I don't believe in "micky mousing" anything, if you want to fix your motor just promise you will do it right. Trust me in the long run you will save lots of money and heartache by doing it right.
When you get back to me I'll also give you a list of what parts you will need to put your bike back together. I can even give you the name of a shop that I think will give you a very good price on parts and they have an online parts manual so you can see exactly what you need and give them the part numbers.
