Has it had any service done since new? if not, have a complete tune up done, valve adjust, carb sync, plugs, oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter.

I think you may have blocked main jets(assuming Carbs). If your bike has been sitting for a long time this will probably be the case and they will need to be stripped and cleaned. I did have one case though where wasps had built a nest in the exhaust pipes and that is a most unlikely scenario but only takes a few seconds to have a look. Hope that helps.

What is the recommended oil to use in 2006 XJ8L Jaguar that has 52,000 miles. I currently use Castrol but I can't remember the wt. I would like to get more mileage before the next oil change, so what...

I switched to a full synthetic oil, and never looked back. You can get 10000 miles out of full synthetic easily. Some people say you never have to change it, but i go 10000 and have for 90,000 miles and still runs smooth as the day i bought it. Castrol Syntec is a very good synthetic oil.

My son just bought a second hand honda 600RR 2006, It seems to stall when engaged in gear, which automatically goes to 2. And I cant get 1st gear?

Is the sidestand down, some bikes have a safety interlock that kills the engine when the bike is put into gear with the sidestand down.

Have a 2006 xvs1100 Vstars Classic & just had a service & now have a tapping in it at idle.

Most bikes after so many miles(dont know what that number is for your particular bike)Need a valve adjustment.See how many miles are on bike and find out how many miles you need before you do valve adjustment.the tapping is usally more pronounced when bike idles because of low oil pressure,as long as noise goes away when you rev motor up its just a ajustment.if this noise gets worse then it could be an oil pressure problem.

My 2008 cbr 600rr is having a problem. Thenuetral light doesnt come on, and so the engine doesnt die when you put the kickstand down. also, the speedometer and odometer dont work. there digital display...

I had the same problem with my neutral light, but the engine should not cut off when the bike is in neutral this is how you can warm up your bike (if it was cutting out before then it could be a short in the wire). Secondly, the speedo and odo problem that sounds like the wires have come disconnected since they both run off the same wheel. Look for a disconnected set of wires, and/or broken wire (from road debirs) that could be causing the problem. Let me know if this helps.

06 1200 c = when i come to a stop after riding for 10 mmin or more the engine dies and acts as if it is not getting fuel. sometimes if i give it a little throttle it misses and backfires . run great at all...

Not sure exactly what the problem is but if I had to take a guess, I'd say that it is running lean and once it's good and hot, it's just a bit too lean to idle correctly.

The bikes come jetted or mapped, depending on whether its a carbed or fuel injected bike, on the lean side to meet EPA emissions standards. The addition of the V & H pipes probably made the situation worse.

If it's a carbed bike, you need to change the low speed jet up one size and add a 0.020" inch thick washer under the needle. Try just changing the jet first.

If it's fuel injected, I don't know because I don't work on the injected model bikes, you'll have to take that to the dealer and see if they can remap the fuel system control for you.

2006 v star 1100. 1500 miles. this bike had new

The excess fuel is caused by the float levels being out of adjustment. Fix the floats and the dead spot may disappear. If not, pull the slides and then move the jet needle clip down one notch. With due respect, I would put the bike carbs back to stock. :)
