98 GMC 4X4 won't start

1998 GMC 4X4 won't start. If I put fuel in the throttle body it will start and run great. After the first start of the day it will start every time for the most part. However, after it sits over night I have to put fuel in the thottle body to get it started. It seems to be getting worse. I have recently replaced the fuel pump, Fuel filter, sparkplugs, new battery, and I have ran injector cleaner through it. What next?

Thank you! Dan the fix, Is there only one injector? Also, any advice on the how to? I am very mechanically inclined so I should be able to do this on my own?

You are losing fuel pressure in your fuel line after sitting for long periods of time. Usually the culprit is the fuel pressure regulator. The injectors could be leaking after shut-off as well.

one way to check if you are losing fuel pressure. After sitting for a long period of time, try turning the key on for 5 seconds then turn off, repeat 3 times and see if you are able to start without spraying fuel. If this works, look for a loss of fuel pressure in your fuel lines.

My 98 gmc safari starts but won't stay started unless u keep putting gas into the throtal thing behind the airvent I already changed the fuel filter still doing the same thing help

It might be your fuel pump not getting fuel to throttle body. Disconnect fuel line to throttle housing get someone to turn car over and see if fuel is getting pumped up. If not the pump could be faulty or fuel filter blocked. Also check to see if you car has a fuel cut of reset button it could just need a reset.

The way you describe this problem the cause seems to be in the fuel system losing pressure. But even then, if you crank long enough it should start. Check your fuel pressure. It may be useful to check your fuel filter.

97 gmc siera on cold days have to dump fuel into throttle body to start, runs fine after??

look into throttle body while cranking.see if you see fuel spray.if not, low fuel pressure of pluged fuel filter. also coolant temp or tps sensor could be at fault.have vehicle sensors scan tested for values..

Trouble starting, after starting runs great. starts up great all day. till next day, same thing all over again. 1995 gmc suburban slt 2500 5.7l 350 4x4.

What do you mean by trouble starting. Do you mean extended cranking time for the first start? If that is what you mean, than you may have a bad fuel pump check valve in the tank. The fuel in the fuel line drains back and requires an extended crank time to push the fuel back up to the injector rail for a start.
