THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR ASSY Approximately $203.00

Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. I checked and the TPS is in stock.

You could Google " motorcycle salvage yamaha " For about $100 they will sell the entire carb ( assuming one is available ). Before I did either option, I suggest you let the shop have a look at the bike. If the TPS is not the problem, you just wasted $200.

It is somewhat a shot in the dark on the salvage carb. Could be great, could be no help. Usually they are usable parts. But, you may want to consider the following > If the shop says the TPS is the problem, then agree with the parts manager that you will buy the $200 TPS on the provision that it fixes the problem. If it doesn't, they agree to take it back and refund the $200. Let's see how much confidence they have in the service department. If they agree, LET THEM INSTALL IT. That way they can't say you screwed something up. Personally, if they are not willing to agree then, if it were me, I would go for the salvage part then mount the entire salvage carb and just use it. At least that way I am risking less money. And if the salvage carb TPS is bad you still have a carb you can sell on Ebay or hang on to for all the other parts that are good. Does the shop or one of the mechanics have a good used TPS they would sell for $80 bucks or so? It doesn't hurt to ask.

Say, could I get a top rating on the solution? I can't get the deal done for you but I have answered your questions and given a website and good suggestions... Thanks man!

So how did you come out with the dealer? Could you take just a moment and rate my answer on your carburetor question? I answer questions for free and really like the feedback. A "very helpful" rating would be great. Thanks!

Check the TPS to be sure but it sounds more like fuel supply problem when it is cold.Check the chock valves in the carbs. When it kicks in if you close the throttle does it do it again or it does not do it at all after those 5-10 min?

Bogging out

The TPS after installed must be adjusted and that is a delicate procedure so you better take it to a dealer's workshop. You should also check the fuel pump if it works properly.
